kevin kyle impressed me with the strides he made last year.. if he makes the same improvements this year, he'll be real tough

I just got off the phone and found out that Ryne took a nasty fall in practice today. Today was Bethel College Work Day and they finished at 11 so they had practice around noon. From what I heard he stole the ball and was defended by Wes Laidig in mid-air...He couldn't get his hands or feet to brace himself and ended up falling face-first on the court, breaking his nose to the point that his skin was actaully split down the crease of his nose. It knocked him out and he was taken to Med-Point. Ontop of that he severely sprained his ankle. I'll update everyone as soon as I know.

I don't think S-D will be the best player in the conference but he will be the best player on that USF squad. His averages will go up significantly because he'll be one of their only scoring threats. Well stated. I and Ron Paul agree.

so here's what I know: Ryno has a broken nose and had an X-ray taken of his ankle. After looking at the X-ray the doctor thought it wasn't broken, but wanted a second opinion. He gave a copy of the x-ray to Coach Lightfoot who will take it to team physician Steve Mitros tomorrow morning. Hopefully he'll confirm that it's not broken and have some good news for us. Regardless, Ryne will be sitting out of practice. His nose is pretty messed up. I've never seen the skin split down the center of the nose before like that. It was still bleeding pretty good when I first saw him. He was in good spirits at Med Point though. My dad thought for sure that he broke his ankle by how he landed on it. But Lord willing it's not a broken ankle and we can see Ryno make a full recovery...hopefully rockin' a Rip Hamilton mask maybe?

I am sure he will be fine. He seems to be a tough kid. I guess if something like this had to happen, its better now than Feb. Tough break no matter how you slice it though.

I agree with QC.
It would take a broken ankle to keep Ryan off the court, that's for sure.
So looking ahead (worst case scenario) If by chance Ryno does have a broken ankle....does Benford now come off of the Red-Shirt list?

Some kid with a curly Mohawk suggested that RL had torn his ACL. Feller, you need to get to work and get to the bottom of all these rumors.

As bad as this may sound (and im not hating on Ryne's skills), i dont think that him being out hurts the pilots, yeah it take a guard out of the rotation but i think they are guard heavy anyway, and I really dont think after watchin some practices that he should be starting or even the next guard off the bench but thats my opinion. That would also get rid of his attitude and mistakes when he gets angry during games which happens often. And that means we can go for a while withouth seeing all the flopping and stuff on lay ups and drives (thats how he got hurt today). I love bethel basketball and Ryne, he's my guy, but ive told him this before so its nuthing new. its just an opinion. i just think that he is replaceable. but it will take away from the depth.
If they bring Benford in this year you can chalk up the NAIA title. He is one of the best players in practice everyday.
As for Mr. Walker... he didnt look to great to me the other day in practice. Like you can tell that he still dominates on the court but he is real passive and is looking to pass alot. One thing he has worked on is his outside game (offensively and defensively). Ive seen him beat alot of guards of the drill in a half court set, finshin nice at the basketball and off pull ups. but its almost like he gets bored in practice and just shuts down tho.
And i beat him in basketball today real bad by the way. It might of been the new NBA 2K9 on PS3 but it was still a shalacking. Beat him by 2 strokes on Tiger Woods too lol. If this matters about his on the court game at all lol.

I'm not around practices to talk about talent, but from what I have seen in the years, I can't say there is anyone that plays harder then Ryne does. You want a leader, he is everything you could want in that aspect. Getting angry during games??? Are you kidding me?? A player that gets upset with himself or his teammates for not playing their best is nothing new. I hope for a full and fast recovery, because losing him will hurt that team more then anyone can imagine!!
