I would love to see that pic, too. That was one of the most amazing athletic plays, by two guys, that I have ever seen in the MCC. The crowd reaction was electric.

Without Sheckler in the league, I don't know if anyone will be able to contend with Walker. He is set to be a beast for sure. if landon adler is as good as people say, i'd put him on the short list of people to contend with walker.. of course i'm hoping that's not the case

the beef on Adler is that he has never been willing to play the post, which is what has been the point of contention with his previous coaches...
Takes a lot of threes...we shall see though.

That is how I always saw Adler when I watched him in High School.
We'll see I guess.....

Adler is more of a 3 / 4 more than a 5 I would have to say.
IWU will use him inside but I really do not know how good he will be.
Maybe he will be more like a Kyle Johnson for Grace was
Any how I think Walker right now has his own little plat form to him self right now. We will have to wait and see if anyone else can come in and be beside him.
Their are some players that can ball with him , we will just have to watch the match-ups and see what happens.
T minus 25 days until Grace plays AIA.

If Adler is Kyle Johnson #2......then I'm not worried.
Not to take anything away from Kyle Johnson, but he wasn't near William Walkers caliber.

I highly doubt Landon Adler will be posting up Will Walker or vice versa. He is to much of a wing player, even at 6'9" for me to believe that Tonagel will use him as a Center Option against Walker. I assume Coverstone will still be the main defensive option at guarding against Walker when IWU plays the Piltos.
You can call it sour grapes, as many of you have in the past, but I don't see DeJovaugn Sawyer-Davis being a big-time player in the MCC, especially next season. The guy has been away from competitive game basketbal for a year and a half and if USF thinks he is going to come in and be the "go-to" guy in the offense for the Cougars, I think they will be mildly dissapointed at best. I think he is a very solid player and I wish he would have never left IWU, but I also believe he was a player that fit well in a system like IWU's which focused so heavily on the outside shot. He is not the type of player to do a whole lot of creating his own shot and unless he has really hit the weights during his time off the court, he won't have the size or strength to back down most MCC defenders.
He is a great passing "little" big-man. I use "little" because he stands at only 6'4" (I believe) but he plays more like a player 6'7"-6'8". He is able to expose players of similiar size as his own because of his tremendous footwork and what I consider a very high basketball I.Q. He also rebounds very well. I mean, you don't start on the Indiana All-Star team alongside guys like Greg Oden and Mike Conley for nothing.
My point though is this. He is a very solid piece but if Rekeweg and the Cougars are going to try and utilize him as the focal point of the offense, then I think he will be dissapointing. If they can emerge some other players, especially outside shooters, I think then he can be a solid option. My guess for him this year is MCC 3rd-Team with numbers around 12-14 ppg, 6-7 rpg, and 2 apg. I'm very curious to see how he emerges after being away from basketball so long and the effect of not having Jon Moon, Joel Tonagel, Tone Murrell, and Zach Coverstone around him will do for him.

I definitely agree about Alder and Walker probably not playing much one on one. Alder is def not a 5. I saw him play last year at Florida Gulf Coast and he wants to shoot the jumper, not back someone in the lane and use a power game. We will see what he does at this level. Joliff has the size to play with Walker but the jury is still out on talent and ability. Kevin Kyle I would imagine will be stronger again this year as well. Coverstone might give Walker a challenge for a half or so with his length but Walker will dominate him eventually. As far as Sawyer-Davis is concerned, and I know we have had this conversation before, I will say that it does sound like sour grapes. I watched him absolutely take over a game in the National tournament 2 years ago and I do believe he will be a 20-12 guy on a nightly basis. It will be interesting to see him get back on the court and see if he has changed much as a player. Its not like he hasn't been playing at all against college competition.

I see that USF has parted ways with the kids from Elkhart Memorial. But what happened to the incoming freshman kid Sindle. I don't see him on their roster either.

So QC, let me get this straight... Sawyer-Davis averages 12.69 points, 6.31 rebounds per game as a freshman at IWU on a team that went to the Elite 8 where he was the third or fourth most concentrated on option on the team and he takes a year and a half off from game action and he is suppossed to be jump to 20 and 12? His career high for points on that season was 26 points and 12 rebounds so he is now going to average his career high? As far as that national tournament goes, yes, he did have a nice tournament but look at the numbers, he didn't exactly "dominate". 3/8/2007 vs Aquinas- 6 points, 8 rebounds 3/9/2007 vs. Oregon Tech- 16 points, 3 rebounds 3/10/2007 vs. MidAmerica- 22 points, 6 rebounds If DeJovaugn Sawyer-Davis averages 20 points and 12 rebounds this season at USF, I will make a sizable donation to the USF General Scholarship Fund.

I don't think S-D will be the best player in the conference but he will be the best player on that USF squad. His averages will go up significantly because he'll be one of their only scoring threats.
