injuries are definitely the wild card in basketball, that's for sure. Walker has to get healthy, I would say, of all those guys, but for practice purposes, you want everyone healthy so you can practice effectively. Doesn't practice (not conditioning) start next week?

All of these players except Griffey practiced today and have practiced everyday. Will's injury happened in early June and he was resting it, but he said the intensity of practice (especially defensive slides) are really painful.
All these players will continue to practice and by the time season starts they will be ready to go, and this is the second week of practice.

and this is the second week of practice. HMMMMMM? Are we all playing by the same rules or do the coaches have the option at this level to start practice when they want. HU didn't start practice until yesterday.

At the NAIA level, there's no set date that you have to wait to have practice. However -- there is a limit to the number of weeks that you can practice during a year. Being away from the NAIA for three years now, I don't remember what that number is off the top of my head, but 23 sticks in my head (and I don't feel like looking it up right now). From my recollection, postseason doesn't count towards that total number of weeks and there are a couple of other limitations in regards to how many breaks you can take once you start, etc. The other thing is what actually constitutes a "practice". Again from my memory, so I might be wrong on this, if there are no balls being used and no shots are taking place, it's not considered a practice. So, if the team is just doing plyometrics or working out or doing some other fitness work, then those wouldn't necessarily count as practices.

From my recollection, there is no rest in Bethel's practice regimine. Unless Walker is sitting out completely from workouts, his injury won't get better. Bethel's practices are to high intensity, high impact day in and day out. My body still hurts 6 years later!!!

Bethel always started conditioning in October....I don't remember the dates however. It's basically an hour a day and it's all circuit work..followed by sprints. It was always the worst few weeks for the guys.....I always joined in on the sprints and it wasn't a cake walk. Although I was always first across the line.

the boys practiced in goodman yesterday and at the end of track practice we saw the last 30 mins of they practice and i must say it was rediculous, almost looked dumb too me. Goin for full court press right into 2 lateral drills that they did 4 sets of, then right to the line where htey had to run 22 sprints times, with like 2 seconds rest in between, after scrimmaging alot the whole practice with people not getting subbed in or out really. The scrimmage looked a lil sloppy but not that bad. They were clearly working hard, but they most definately looked exhausted. Not like they out shape exhausted but they were pushed to the limit yesterday most definately. Like it seems as if he's tryin to kill them before they even get started. But they all practiced except for Griffey yesterday; he was doin rehad stuff.
It was one point in practice where coach was puttin in a zone O and a manager was following walker around with a towel because his shorts were dripping puddles everywhere he went. lol ended up goin to get him new pair of shorts lol.
Everyone here is excited for this season cause we know that this team is focused and ready to cause havok in the MCC and NAIA. They have many offensive weapons and people that are steppin up and playin tight D. Cont wait for it to start.

The Grace team started their conditioning last week I saw Gaff , Duke, and others doing a lot of spirt work on are middle hill between the Libary and are really old Comm. building.
I know that their retreat was last weekend.
I have also seen some of the Bethel pratice when I was up their and right now I would have to say Bethel is winning the Conditioning battle.

HU finished its conditioning phase last week (three weeks of that) and is now in what the NAIA defines as practice, I think, which involves actual scrimmaging, working on sets, etc. I think. At least they get to use a basketball now, I know that much.

My 11.00 100 speed . . . . Most folks think of yards or meters when they refer to the 100. But if you want to use feet that's ok with me.
