Sampson sure was a great judge of character. And you were so gung ho about them last year...

I'll hand it to him though, he stuck by his guy until he had much evidence against him. Granted, other people saw the problems, but people stick by their team, until there is reason to do differently. If Feller was still defending him, then we'd have a problem.

It's sad how he has brought these kids in with a basketball first mentality. It appears that Armon Bassett might be back on the squad next year, but I'm feeling more and more like that 10-15 win season is a reality.

I'd rather see a season with 10-15 with a coach that has character then a 25-30 win season with a coach that doesn't. I've been really impressed with Crean. I'm glad he's at IU.

How in the world can Bassett be allowed back on the team and not Ellis? How in the world can that be justified? If Crean allows that to happen I don't want to ever hear another word from you Feller about coaches allowing players back on the team. If Bassett's back it's only because they want to win a game in the Big Ten next year.

Me too Loucks.
Bottom line is Indiana Basketball fans have been spoiled for most of our lives, so a year or two of bad results isn't the end of the world. I think Crean is the guy that will be here for 20 years and that doesn't upset me in any way, shape, or form.

Not only is Bassett not coming back but neither is Thomas or Holman, or Ellis. In fact IU will only have two scholarship players returning (Crawford and McGee) as well as walk-on Kyle Taber. They'll have 5 guys coming in, but only 4 of which are scholarship players and another walk-on. A Big Ten team with only 8 players on the roster is pretty amazing. Kudos to Crean though for cutting the dead weight from the Scumson era. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3378521

“I looked at IU, they got all these championships,” Creek said. “A great school overall, a great basketball school, why not? Why not go to Indiana?”
Maybe those national championships do mean something...........

ya, so once the coach who recruited you goes there, you actually realize they did win titles before you were born...
Is that what Bethel is counting on too?

Sampson wasn't recruiting Creek.
As far as Bethel goes......they've had the best history in the MCC and they are currently the best team in the MCC.

IU's 2009 class is turning out to be a big one for the Hoosiers. These guys will all be 4 year players and all bring something much needed to the table. Nick Williams and Maurice Creek could be a pretty impressive backcourt.
