Roger Franklin (Rivals #7 Texas Recruit 2009) made it known this weekend that he wants to visit Indiana. Franklin is a 6'6 217lb SF that plays for Duncanville HS. Duncanville won the state championship in Texas in Franklin's sophomore season. This year the team was at one point 35-1 and ranked #1 before it was upset in the regional semis. Franklin averaged a double-double (16 pts, 11 reb) for Duncanville.
The junior was recruited by Marquette when Tom Crean was the head coach there in Milwaukee and that has not changed since Crean took the Indiana job.
"That has developed really well," said Franklin. "Seeing Tom Crean leave from Marquette to go to Indiana.....you have changes and he already gave me an offer so Indiana is really high on my list and I am going to be very interested."
Apparently interested enough to get Franklin to Bloomington when he begins to take campus trips.
"They will get a guaranteed visit," said Franklin.
The Texan went through other schools involved at the moment.
"I would say Utah, SMU, Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, I think that is about it," said Franklin.

NICK WILLIAMS SIGNS WITH INDIANA! It's never a bad thing to catch a Top 150 player when you haven't even been on the job for a month. Huge catch for Tom Crean and the Indiana Hoosiers. blogs.heraldtimesonline.com/iusp/Nick Williams, a 6-4 shooting guard from Mobile, Ala., has committed to Indiana. Otis Hughley, the coach at LaFlore High school, told The Herald-Times today that Williams has faxed his signed letter of intent to the university. They are now awaiting confirmation. Hughley coached Williams, a physical guard who has played plenty in the paint, through a historic four-year run. Williams played varsity as a freshman, and was a star on a team that went to three state final fours and won a state championship. LaFlore was also at one time ranked the No. 1 team in the country by USA Today.

Things are just taking off in Bloomington, and this is Crean with one hand behind his back...(thank you Sampson).
6'9 Sophomore Travis Carroll (Danville, IN) will be visiting Indiana on Thursday. The sophomore had an excellent year at Danville, averaging 20.7 points per game and was among the state's rebounding leaders with his 13.2 boards per game average.
On Saturday night against Evan Anderson, the 6-foot-11 top five ranked sophomore on the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, Carroll held his own scoring 18 points against the big guy who in turn had 19 points in the game.

Getting players from Alabama? Sounds a lot like a previous beloved IU coach

rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=7990482010 BIG TIME recruit Anthony Brown (California) has Indiana in his top 5 right now. "They are not in any order right now, but my top five are Arizona, Washington, Texas, Indiana, and UCLA," said Brown, noting that he most recently spoke with new Indiana head coach Tom Crean and Arizona assistant Miles Simon."

Stephen Van Treese trims his list down to six!
"My school list basically consists of Kansas, Indiana, Louisville, Ohio State, UCLA and Florida," he said. "Those are the schools that I am looking at right now."

Another big time Lawrence North stud is headed out of state. 2010 potential 5-star recruit Dominique Ferguson committed to Kentucky. The 6'9 forward with a 7'5 wing-span it a nice get for the Cats and a huge miss for Crean & IU.

Weird scene at Assembly Hall today.
Eli Holman informed the coaches that he would not be returning to Indiana (speculation is that he flunked out) and at some point threw a potted plant and the IU Police were called by the Basketball Staff to have him escorted out of THE Assembly Hall.
Sampson sure was a great judge of character.
