I guess it's a good time to start a new thread for IU Football.
The naming of Oklahoma Offensive Coordinator Kevin Wilson happened yesterday. Here is his brief resume....most of you will remember his miraculous Northwestern teams in the late 90's and perhaps his record breaking offense at Oklahoma in 2008.
1990-1998 - Miami-OH (OL, QC, OC) 1999-2001 - Northwestern (OC) 2002-2005 - Oklahoma (OL) 2006–2010 - Oklahoma (OC)
In 2008, Wilson won the "Broyles Award" which goes to the Top Assistant Coach in NCAA D1 Football.
His first line of business.......getting Gunner Kiel to Indiana. Gunner is a big time QB prospect with offers from the likes of Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Etc. He's from Columbus, Indiana....and many are already calling him Wilson's "Cody Zeller". He is a 2012 prospect.

Already some recruiting momentum for Coach Wilson.
Indiana commit (4-Star) Raymon Taylor opened up his recruitment last week and is planning a visit to Iowa this weekend has said that he is very excited about the hire and will give Indiana every chance to get him back (seems like a pretty selfish kid).
Oklahoma product Danial Davis is a 3 star defensive end who was committed to Stanford as a Junior. His offer was pulled in Nov. after the LB coach moved on from Stanford. He missed the summer recruiting time and is late to the game for recruiting. He was contacted by Rivals and said he was very interested in following Coach Wilson to Indiana.......not sure what will come of it.
Also, Dominique Petties is a 3 star athlete. He was previously a 4 star rated #177 in the country and #2 in Ok. He dropped out of the Rivals Top 250 all together and the OK rankings have not been updated. He has offers from a slew of teams. I wonder if his stock dropped with some of those teams as well.

What article did you read? The one I read said he will give IU every chance, but said he knew little about Wilson. No mention of him being "very excited" about the hire. He also said he's a life-long Wolverine fan and was "very excited" that they had contacted him.

Gunner Kiel has Notre Dame connections. Blair Kiel is his uncle. He camped at ND and has went on record saying that he really wants an offer but I don't think any will come. After getting Golson this year, I think they'll take Maty Mauk (from Ohio, his brother played at Cincinnati) and call it a day. Kiel is a very good player (I was hoping for an offer from ND) but many people think he's a Tennessee lean.

I think bringing in a guy like Kevin Wilson is a game changer for a QB.

Raymon must have decided he didn't want to have a roommate that sells drugs out of their room. Guilt by association causes problems.

Nick Stoner, a 2011 commitment for IU Football was recently offered by Penn State and spent last week on an official visit at Happy Valley.
Today he met with Coach Wilson in Bloomington for the first time and has backed up his commitment to IU and given his "pledge" once again. Wilson has already secured a couple of nice victories in keeping kids committed....
