He's going to take Illinois State to another level. The MVC is a whole other level than high school basketball. I wouldn't claim him as the 2nd coming of Bird just yet.

Moore would be a very good Big Ten player. Illinois State is about to spend a few years dancing in March.

Matt Roth can't carry his gym bag.
He's a good big ten player like he would start at PG for MOST big ten programs next year as a true freshman.

Bold statement by Coach Ogle, "With this performance, he re-established himself as the best player in the state."

Matt Roth can't carry his gym bag. He's a good big ten player like he would start at PG for MOST big ten programs next year as a true freshman. So why won't he? That's a big statement to make for someone that only has small D1 offers. I think Moore is a legitimate D1 player but there is absolutely NO WAY he would start many (if any) Big 10 teams his freshmen year. Why hasn't IU recruited him? Or Purdue? Or Notre Dame?

Not to be a ball buster, but he did have interest shown from a couple Big Ten schools including Minnesota, Northwestern, and Purdue. Don't quote me, but I thought I read once that he wasn't really interested in playing at/for Purdue.

A lot of Big Ten schools showed him interest. I know Purdue was very interested. I saw Painter at several Warsaw games the last two years. Nic had no interest in playing at purdue. From what I have been told( my good friend is friends with the Moore family), that Nic grew up an IU fan and would not play for purdue. He was offered a Scholly at Northwestern, but was holding out for an IU scholarship offer. when he didn't get it, it was too late to take the offer at Northwestern because the scholarships had been filled, so he took the best offer. Michigan and Iowa started to show some interest right before he took the Ill St. offer. If Nic was 4 inches taller, he could play anywhere. If anyone has a chance to see him play this year, take advantage of it. You will not be disappointed.

I think Nic will start right away at Illinois St and make a big impact. We will be seeing them in the dance several times over the next 4 years.

Matt Roth can't carry his gym bag. He's a good big ten player like he would start at PG for MOST big ten programs next year as a true freshman. He wouldn't start at Illinois (Abrams/Paul), Ohio State (Craft), Michigan State (Appling), Wisconsin (Taylor), Michigan (Morris), and Purdue (Jackson). He probably wouldn't start at Penn State (Buie). You tell me if he's better than Lil' Jordy Hulls. If not, then that's 8 Big Ten programs where he wouldn't be starting from day 1. Minnesota needs a PG as does Northwestern, but it's a bit persumptuous to think he's start from day 1 there. I'll give you Iowa, but honestly Illinois State probably has a better program at this point. I think you're over-hyping a 5'9 white boy from Indiana because you got drunk on Hoosiers when you were a kid. I'm not denying the kid is good and he may well have a great career at ISU, but let's be realistic here.

Hey he's not all white ;D ...but now that you pointed it out that Minnesota is now in need of a point guard (I think their PG is suspended), I wonder if he will open up his recruitment to them or the Iowa's, and Northwestern's of the world...I wouldn' think so though, as others knowledge of him indicates he wouldnt go back on his decision, but who knows.
