Hey he's not all white ;D ...but now that you pointed it out that Minnesota is now in need of a point guard (I think their PG is suspended), I wonder if he will open up his recruitment to them or the Iowa's, and Northwestern's of the world...I wouldn' think so though, as others knowledge of him indicates he wouldnt go back on his decision, but who knows. He has already signed a letter of intent which is binding unless ISU lets him out of it. I doubt that's happening now. tigersportsnation.com/basketball/article/from-a-tiger-to-a-redbird-nic-moore-signs-with-illinois-state

HIRG..........just file his name away.
You'll be back to telling me I was right very shortly. He's very good.......he's just short.

He may be a good player. He may be very good. However, I will stand by the fact that it's a bit outlandish to say he would "start a most Big Ten programs as a true freshman."

I think by next year he would be good enough to start for:
Michigan Indiana Iowa Northwestern Minnesota Penn State Nebraska
7 of 12.........more than half.

Kyle, the question still remains; if Nic is that good, why don't any of these coaches (esp. Coach Crean) offer him? Like someone said, Painter has been to Warsaw more than once and never offered Nic. He's a very, very talented kid but he doesn't have the tools to play in the B10 as a freshmen (or, thereafter).

Feller clearly you missed this... He wouldn't start at Illinois (Abrams/Paul), Ohio State (Craft), Michigan State (Appling), Wisconsin (Taylor), Michigan (Morris), and Purdue (Jackson). He probably wouldn't start at Penn State (Buie). You tell me if he's better than Lil' Jordy Hulls. If not, then that's 8 Big Ten programs where he wouldn't be starting from day 1. Minnesota needs a PG as does Northwestern, but it's a bit persumptuous to think he's start from day 1 there. I'll give you Iowa, but honestly Illinois State probably has a better program at this point. I think you're over-hyping a 5'9 white boy from Indiana because you got drunk on Hoosiers when you were a kid. I'm not denying the kid is good and he may well have a great career at ISU, but let's be realistic here. He's not better than Morris at Michigan... I think it's debatable that he's better than Buie at Penn State. If you say he's better than Lil' Jordy Hulls then Crean is an idiot for not offering him. Plan & simple.

IU didn't offer him for the same reason that they didn't offer Darwin Davis from Bloomington South, he's too small.
Jordy Hulls was offered because he was a hometown kid that was most likely going to win Mr. Basketball and the leader of the best high school team the country. His quick recruitment was a statement more than anything. After struggling last year, it's VERY clear this season that Jordy Hulls is far and away the leader of the Hoosiers.
And you're right...the more I thought about it.....I'm not sure Moore would start at Indiana next year, especially the way Hulls has been playing this season. Moore is a BIG TIME scorer.....I think he's a different type of PG than Jordy Hulls.

In other words it's generous if not persumptious to say he'd have a chance to start at 4 Big Ten schools next year (Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern, Nebraska). That's a third of Big Ten schools not "most" as you previously stated.

Don't forget to add Michigan and Penn State. 6.... You honestly don't read my posts do you? Your boy Moore is not even close to being as good as Darrius Morris, the PG at Michigan. Morris is averaging 14.4 points a game and 7.5 assists a game as a sophomore this year. He was a 4-star out of LA coming out of HS. Just because Michigan sucks as a team doesn't automatically mean Moore would start for them. Taran Buie is Penn State's 4th leading scorer as a freshman PG coming off the bench this season. I think he would get the nod as a sophomore over a 5'9 freshman.

I'm telling you guys, the only reason Nic is playing at a mid major like Illinois St. is because he is so short. I can guarantee if he was about 2 maybe 3 inches taller he would be going to the Big Ten somewhere. He is just as good if not better than what Dariese Gary was in high school. Having played alongside Dariese, that's saying something. He has a chance to play in the pro's next year. Would have been nice to see Nic play at Concord where both of his brother's, Kyle and Mike, played. He is a great player and I have watched him develop since he was in elementary school when he was on my brother's AAU team.
Playing against him in high school, he found ways to score. He is small, but he can drive the lane and finish among guys that are a foot taller than him, it's crazy. I do think he is done growing, and that's too bad, because he really has the talent to possibly one day be playing in the NBA if it wasn't for him being so small.

Moore just dropped 34 on D. Davis at the HOF classic in a loss. Warsaw has ZERO depth to compete against schools like South. Without Moore, Warsaw is a below .500 team. He gets his shot to prove everyone wrong, once again, tonight against Washington. I think he will go off tonight, to make a statement.
He has come a long way since the time I had to pull him off the court against Concord his 8th grade year, and explain to him that no matter what team he plays for, they can't win without him on the floor. Watching him mature to the player he has become has been exciting.
As far as playing Big 10 basketball, he could play at that level at 5'8" and be one of the most athletic guys on the floor. The thing is, at 5'8" you have to do everything well, and have at least one thing that will set you apart. His shooting isn't going to set him apart. If there is one knock on him, it is his perimeter shooting. His percentage has improved this year, but overall, it's not as consistant as you would want out of a Big 10 perimeter player.
All and all, I think Illinois State was a good fit for Nic. He can be an immediate impact to a team, and even become a star there in a short period of time. He will impress with his college career, and I'm excited for him.

I haven't seen Moore but from everything I've heard it sounds like he'll be a very good mid-major player.

Nic hit a last second shot to knock off Cody Zeller and Washington High School tonight.
Zeller shot a woeful 4 for 17......ending up with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
