Haha... I remember the "Benford's gonna average 20+!!!" threads. Oh Bethel fans I remember when some HU fans thought that Platt Jr. would be as good of a coach as his father. Silly HU fans! Don't remember that? Although, I think he is doing fine.

Hmm...let's see, he coached a shorthanded team without its two leading scorers to a near upset of Bethel. Not too bad, I'd say. Actually, he's got that team playing really hard and pretty effectively; they took USF to the wire at their place, but just ran out of gas because there are too many minutes and not enough bodies. That's not bad considering we're starting a point guard who was playing home school basketball at this time last year.

If you remember last year when we played HU at there play we had to start a freshman guard (Troyer) b/c Spencer Harris was injured and we thought that it might hurt IWU, but it was the complete opposite! It was a lot better for us in the long run b/c he gained the pt and the experience that helped in Branson as well. So maybe for HU this will really build your bench so that when Shively and Kyle do come back you will have players on the bench that were in the starting role and will effectively help HU in the home stretch!

Has Zach Coverstone seperated himself a bit in this race over the past few weeks?
Obviously I am biased here, but I think with IWU being the top team in the MCC (by record, not ranking) and Coverstone being the big player I think he holds the edge right now over Sawyer-Davis, Lightfoot, and McCollum in my opinion. Still lots of MCC ball to be played obviously however I think he may be the leader in the clubhouse right now and it might not be close.

Is conference POY given to the best player on the best team or just to the best player or does a senior get it (just thought I'd get that argument going)?

Cowboy, In the case of this year with Coverstone, I would say all of the above.

Are IWU fans satisfied now not being ahead of USF anymore...and now IWU and Bethel will determine who is second in conference...
Yes, I think we have determined conference player of the year seniors have an advantage...

I saw J. S. Davis last week and Coverstone tonight and neither of them played like a player of the year. Davis got smoked by Welsh tonight. and Joey wasn't even starting before Brown wend down.

Joey has been starting all year, it was Wes who moved from the bench to the starting lineup when Tyler got hurt. But still...point taken.
