That's a solid outing, especially for his 1st career big league start.

I think Justin is the first Bethel noon hoopster to pitch in a major league game.

Looks like he got out at just the right time, or they should have left him in. One of the two

I didnt hear about him starting until about 11:30 today when I heard about it on ESPN radio. How cool was that to get his first start. I wish I could have seen it. Just exciting to hear how well he did. I am a yankee fan, but wanted to see him do well today and glad he did. Maybe he will get to stay up there or will be back soon

Yeah, it was just a spot start. I've read a lot about him getting a September call up though.

He won't be down there all season after that. They think he will be in the bullpen for a playoff push and the playoffs. Baseball tonight is all over him already with good reason. I heard them talk about him on an espn radio update, and the Duke gave anice little talk about him.

According to CBSsports:
With Buchholz on the DL and an off day Thursday, the Red Sox will probably call up someone like Justin Masterson to pitch a game next week. Masterson is 1-2 with a 3.06 ERA (34 Ks, 14 BB) in seven starts with Double-A Portland. In his start against the Angels in April, Masterson looked very good -- striking out four in six innings, allowing one earned run. Consider picking him up in mixed leagues if you have roster space. (Updated 05/14/2008).

"Looks like on tuesday I get another opportunity to pitch in the big leagues against the kansas city royals at fenway park."
