So the old thread got deleted when Gabe cleaned house. I thought I'd start a new one and commend the Illini on a nice win in Minneapolis tonight over Tubby Smith's Gophers! The Illini smoked Minnesota 84-60 in the Barn behind another solid effort from Demetri McCamey. I didn't get to see the game because I had a meeting from 8-10, but this near triple-double stat line is impressive: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists, with only 3 turnovers! This kid is going to be a phenomenal point guard for years to come in Champaign! He'll be great once he has some shooters around him next year (Smith & Legion).

Any win at Minnesota is a great win.

The Illini have beaten the Gophers 18 straight times which is the longest current streak for any Big Ten school against another Big Ten opponent.

Here's some more information on Donivine Stewart, the kid that lit up Roth the other week. He is indeed 15, and his does indeed have a lot of interest in the Fighting Illini. www.whoitv.com/sports/aotw.aspx

Actually Roth lit up Limestone's 2-3 zone, but however you want to spin it

Why on earth would you run a 2-3 Zone against the greatest three point shooter in Illinois HS history?
Another great story of legendary coaching from the state of Illinois

I don't know why, but that's what it was. Go back and read the article.

You've got that much for a year. Unless we play again in the Big Ten Tournament. As for me, I'd rather have a program that isn't going to go through losing its head coach on top of major sanctions coming. But that's just me...

I'm going to start comparing Jordan Crawford to Calbert Cheaney.

Do what you want. Obviously McCamey has a long way to go, however:
1. He has the build of Williams 2. He has the vision of Williams
What he doesn't have yet is the intense work ethic that Williams had. But if you read the article, he is getting there, by taking Deron's advice and doing late-night shooting drills on his own. He's got a long way to go, but he has the physical tools to get to where Williams finished.
