I think this is the closest Bethel has been to IWU after the winter in a while. There are 5 sports left: Baseball, Softball, Men's and Women's Track and Men's Golf.
The Pilots would have to average a finish of 2.4 spots ahead of IWU to win the trophy for the only the second time ever (2001).
Sport by sport:
Softball - Bethel is def the favorite here. They are ranked #12 in the NAIA and IWU is not even receiving votes and honestly I don't know much about them, but Bethel should gain points here..
Track - Again I don't know much here, but Bethel finished ahead of IWU in both M and W at NCCAA Indoor Nationals this weekend so maybe more points here.
Baseball - Neither is getting votes and they were pretty even last year so this looks to be a toss up.
Golf - IWU is ranked ahead of Bethel, but Golf is a one day thing so who knows.
I'll in all it is possible.

Doesn't IWU win this every year?

Basically.
It has been IWU #1 and Bethel #2 every year since 2001-2002 I fairly certain.

Men's Soccer Co-Championship- CHECK Men's Tennis Championship- CHECK Men's Basketball Co-Championship- CHECK
Yeah, you are right, a bit of a down year for IWU sports. Only 3-of-5 men's championships wrapped up so far. Things look pretty good for Golf and Track though. Doesn't hurt to have those women's teams DOMINATING as well.

Wesley,
Even you can admit that IWU's Mens Sports have lagged far behind the success of their women. They've had some recent successes (money is a wonderful thing) but overall men's sports haven't been much of a sticking point for IWU athletics.
When I was at Bethel...other than the track/cross country they were hardly anywhere to be found.

Let's put it this way....
In 1996, during an epic Oak Hill vs. Madison-Grant basketball game, Coach Bobby Knight was in attendance. He was recruiting Kyle Runyan (MG) and Jared Odle (OH) during this time.
There was a sign in the Oak Hill student section that read as follows:
"Odle = IU" "Runyan = IWU"
It was an obvious slam based on the fact that several of the local HS teams had a legit shot of beating IWU in those days.

Clearly you don't read well.
It's a great example of what IWU mens athletics have been, until very very very recent history. I guess if you want another example of how bad IWU mens athletics have been, you can check our their cute plaque that they made and posed with in claiming their "2nd MCC Championship"

What does the past have to do with now? Do you really need to live in the past when Bethel has a fine team today and belittle everything that's not Bethel?
I think we all know that IWU men's athletics has been very bad in the past, but why talk about that when the men's basketball team, men's soccer team, men's tennis team, men's cross country team, men's golf team and men's track team have all won MCC titles in the past 2-3 years.

Because it's fun,
Kind of like how you like to belittle everything not IWU on the basketball court. It's fun to get a rise out of people.
