That question may stretch the "institutional memory" of Bethelhoops crowd. I have heard stories of Doc Reimer and Dr. Bridges mixing it up in Goodman. My one connection with that era was playing with Dennis E. who had played with them. According to some accounts Doc played basketball as if he was playing hockey on wood instead of ice.
Here is where we need Dave Slater. He would know.

Oh, and I must give props to my boys Cowboy and Fomerbruin we dominated noonhoops yesterday even though we were outmatched athletically.

Thanks Gabe. Every time I step out on the court I am "outmatched athletically." I remember one summer day, a few years back, when a middle school kid TOTALLY dominated me in every phase of the game. The kid's name: Ryne Lightfoot.

Gabe missed his first bunch of 3s but got hot and hit some ridiculous shots--and he was taking it to the hoop

Two reverse layups at least. He was serving humble pie.

If my sources are correct........a certain poster on this board just paid for lunch with Gabe at Fiesta Tapitia. "Sources" You mean there is more than one? I should have known. Recently I was warned that the opposing political party has assigned someone to keep an eye on me and report back on a weekly basis. Other than a few posts here and there on Bethelhoops and occasional over agressive defense during noontime I can't imagine what I would do that would be of any interest to those folks. So Kyle, what else do your sources tell you??

Unfortunately I can't cough up that information........it has to be the right time.
whatever that means haha

I haven't really planned on coming around anytime soon, but I could very well change that with the proper persuasion.

the original noonhoops (past 20 years) crowd began with Cramer, Engbrecht, Fisher, Matteson, Lightfoot, Kevin Abbott, Kevin Lantz, and Tom Walker. Some have moved on, while others have decided health and safety were more important than lunchtime glory...
Trivia- who had the first dunk during noonhoops? Lunch at Tapatia for the first correct answer...
