Well shoot .... that was an exciting game to be in attendance for! Geez ... the way we started, the turnovers, the EVERYTHING ... Then to come back and finish the game on a 31-9 run! It was incredible. I really didnt see that type of comeback in in the cards for us, so it was AWESOME to see. Bo Ryan usually has Izzo's number and that also made it so sweet
As much as it pains me to compliment him, but Suton was truly at the center of it all today. He was great in those last 10 minutes. Played tough, got the boards, made the plays and brought the emotion! Haha his 3, 3-point attempts reminded me why i hate him. But he played well otherwise.
Little Kalin Lucas(5'11") ... Ok, he isnt THAT small .... But I have NEVER seen him dunk and on a break away he just cocked back and threw it down, it was sick!
I like the position State is in right now, I'd love to see them win out, but I expect one more lose. Not sure where, but I just have that feeling. But I like how they're playing, I like thier determination, We'll see.

I listened to this game on my way back from Indiana and it was a heckuva game. Wisconsin was in control through 3/4 of the game and had a 41-29 lead with about 12 minutes to go but then Michigan State just turned it on. That's the mark of a Big Ten Champ to me. I'm hoping the Spartans will fall to Illinois in Champaign next Sunday, but the Illini shot themselves in the foot at home against Penn State and I believe Michigan State will still win the Big Ten.

I'm hoping so!
Playing AT Illinois makes me a tad nervous. It's not an ideal place to go into this late in the season.
But yeah, I think they have what it takes to win the Big 10 and hopefully make a good run in the national tourney

Well state was able to get another win tonight against Iowa. It sure as hell wasnt pretty, but hey ... it was a win! So I cant complain too much. I will say this though ... They need to PICK IT UP! This team is NOT ready for the tournement. Big 10 or otherwise.
Our freshman played really well tonight (Roe and Lucious lead all Spartan scoring). But we are going to need far better production from our older guys. In my opinon, Raymar Morgon needs to have his time cut DRAMATICALLY. He just hasnt been the same since coming back from mono. He throws a wrench into the offensive set when he is there ... and just looks totally out of sync.
Tough couple games still to play. At Illinois (not liking the feeling of that one) .... Which is a tough place to play ... and who knows what MSU team will show up. And then its at IU, which sure it's IU, but who knows, they'll get up for the game and wont have anything to lose, so they will come out jacked and playing there balls off. Then we cap off the season with Purdue at home. And geez ... They're tough. I dont know. I think we will go 2-1 with the last 3 .

Welp ... thats 8 Sweet 16's in 12 years. Pretty sweet!
Some thoughts from todays game ... 1. Good plan by Floyd, to throw something at us we haven't seen all year. Made our other guys make shots. On the flip side, he has a very talented team .... And I think they should have won quite a few more games.
2. Travis Walton, Travis Walton, Travis Walton. Continues to shut so many people up. USC was determined to not allow Lucas to run wild, which indirectly made Walton take shots and he totally came through! He was HUGE today.
3. That is a very good win against a very good team. But we didn't defend very well for the first 30 minutes of that game, IMO.
4. Raymar Morgon really looks lost on offense, which needs to change for us to make a deeper run.
5. Draymond Green just continues to amaze me. I mean one can't even call it a pleasant surprise anymore, because that doesn't do him justice. He's been a plus player damn near from jump street...It's going to be exciting to watch his game continue to expand (and I have no doubt that it will - he's got some handle, and a mid-range game that are begging for future mismatches).
6. Allen and Summers actually had parts of the game where they both played well together, which sadly is a rarity. So that was great to see.
* Just feels great to be a State fan
* Oh yeah, Travis Walton, Travis Walton, Travis Walton.

Travis Walton carried the Spartans to that win today. He was incredible. That has to be the best game of his career offensively by far! 8 Sweet 16's in 12 years is an impressive achievement.

I almost did... Louisville in Indy was a little too hard to pass up though. Plus the Spartans haven't exactly performed well in Indy over the past couple years.

But they do play all of their home games on the court from Indianapolis.
Does that count? haha

MSU purchased the court from their National Championship year and installed it at the Breslin Center.
It's pathetically true.
