Solid game for the Spartans today at Ohio State. The Buckeyes controlled the game in the first half and got me a little excited that Illinois could be tied for the conference lead today if MSU went down, but Michigan State just owned OSU in the 2nd half. You could definitely see the mammoth difference in experience between these two teams. Michigan State was calm in the 2nd half and methodically tore apart the Buckeyes. MSU pounded OSU on the offensive boards snatching 15 offensive rebounds that led to 18 2nd chance points. Add in the fact that Durrell Summers was lights out all day hitting for a career high 26 points, and there was no way that Turner and the under-manned Buckeyes were getting a home win today. Michigan State is definitely the best team in the conference and should win it by a couple of games if they stay focused and avoid letdowns like the Northwestern debacle a couple days ago.

Hahahaha Thank you very much for the nice write up friend.
I was in the process of getting my car all cleaned up and ready for sale, so I wasnt able to catch anymore then the last 55 seconds. But by all accounts it sounds like Izzo made the best of the loss against N'Western, and got his boys refocused and ready to go. Summers is just sick. He has the ability to just GO OFF on certain nights when he is completely focused and in the right frame of mind.

That was a great game! State showed up, played solid basketball right out of the gate and finished a game. It was good. Northwestern was nothing more than an "upset" - and it did hurt especially b/c it was at home and Purdue seems to be finding their stride - but there was absolutely no hangover from that loss. You go into Columbus (we struggled in the first half) and Iowa City and win! Maybe not two worldbeaters, but tough enough road games after a heartbreaking loss. That's tough ... I like it.
Summers proves his outing at OSU wasnt just a fluke and put up 21 tonight. With only Kalin Lucas topping him with 24 points. It was a nice win!

I watched most of that game last night, mainly to support Jake Kelly (His HS Coach is a Bethel guy).
MSU looked way out of Iowas league in just about every part of the game.

MSU dropped another home game today. I didn't see more than the final minute, but Tailor Battle might just be the best player in the Big Ten. I used to think that was Manny Harris, but he hasn't played all that well lately and his team has gone down the toilet. Battle is leading a group of less talented players (outside of Cornley and Pringle) into the upper half of the Big Ten and are now looking like they will be in the Big Dance this year.

Ugly game in Ann Arbor tonight. 23-15 MSU at the break. Both teams seem out of sync but UM is particularly terrible. I can't fathom how they are this bad. They have two great players and what I thought was a solid coach, but Michigan has consistently underperformed for the last month (they are 2-6 during that stretch).

Man no kidding!
State just looks like they are somewhere else. And we're getting lucky by UM not being to great tonight either.
MSU just needs to put a solid run together and increase the margin

I believe that Izzo's stategy in the first half was to make UM play strong halfcourt defense and wear them out. The way we were reversing the ball, etc. I think you will see us running them out of the gym in the second half ... Or so i hope

It's picking up. I think this one is going to come right down to it.
Come on State hold on to this one!

State looks like they're going to take this one. It looks like it was the first to 50 points wins!

Team played good but Delvon carried the team offensively and was just a beast inside. Walton shut down harris. The 3 he got walton had defended perfectly Harris just hit it. Great great game by those 2
Since the penn state game .... MSU has held there opponents to 47, 47 and 42 ... I have really been impressed with there defense. Grant it those were against Iowa, IU and UM ... but it's good to see a solid performance on the defensive side of the ball.

Yeah... not to take away from MSU's D, but they weren't exactly playing world-beaters. Still they're head and shoulders above any other team in the Big Ten right now.
