P.S. I was wrong .... we have IPFW next .... THEN we have the Old Spice tourney.
Yes .... THE IPFW ... The powerhouse .... we are actually playing in FW. Someone should go, and tell me how it goes!

Good grief ... MSU won a SLOPPY game against the Mastodons of IPFW tonight. Geez, it was like we just assumed that they werent going to even show up. We couldnt get our game going from the opening tip ... we just kept trying to run on them like we playing some jv girls team .... geez just set up your offense and play basketball.
Then in the 2nd half, IPFW got out to a 13-0 run .... and we had to battle back to get this win.
70-59 final
We tried lots of things, it was closer than it should have been (we honestly should have won by 20+), and we have some things to work on but I think we'll be ok.

So the rumor on the street is that Bethel held their own against IPFW in their scrimmage. IPFW only loses by 11 to MSU. So is it fair to say that Bethel would hold their own against MSU?

Oh gosh i would love it. Walker would just get abused .... And i wouldnt stop laughing for years.
Ryno would cry when any one of the BENCH players crossed him up, let alone any of the starting guards. Full tears ... sobbing.

Steve said that Izzo played 11 guys, and seemed intent on getting minutes for his freshmen. He said some of them looked good, particularly Morgan (does that seem right?). But, one of the starters, and I don't remember who, played the first 6 minutes and never came back in, he said. MSU had a freshman point guard running things for most of the second half, too. He did say IPFW did a good job of slowing things down and keeping MSU from going up tempo. Overall, I think it might be safe to say that MSU didn't exactly put forth its strongest effort, especially with Maryland and UNC coming up next, I think Steve said.

Morgan's their stud. I believe he's a junior though.

Morgan (Raymar Morgan) is right .... And yes HURG he is our stud, and will truly be our bread and butter this year. He is a 6'7" jr. who primarily plays the wing, but depending on the opposition, he sometimes plays the 4.
Not too sure about the starter who didnt play much, all of our starters got at least 22 minutes. We do however have a Kalin Lucas who is a sophomore guard, and then we just brought in a Korie Lucious who is freshman .... and good grief is it hard to keep the names straight
I am excited see how this team progresses. They have the talent to make one hell of a run. We'll see, UNC looked real good the other night. And that was WITH OUT tyler hansbrough .... so yeah. It'll be an interesting game in Detroit.
Speaking of which, tickets are only $9 .... its at Ford Field .... And is going to be a BATTLE! If anyone is interested in going let me, i have a few guys here who are going, but ti would be fun to have a good group .... So let me know if there is any interest

This Maryland game is making my beautiful thanksgiving lunch/dinner come back up. And yet ... i still cant turn it off. We can't BUY a bucket .... we have 1 player in double figures with 4 minutes left in the second half.
#6 team in the nation .... good lord. Terrible game.

No kidding! That was my point.
That was just sickening. We were without Suton (who i hate) which was quite a blow to our already inexistent interior, post game. But ... that was not really the issue. We shot 44% from the stripe that night which is NOT normal. So that, and having 15 turnovers, mixed with Suton's absence ... all piled together to make a crap showing from the Spartans that night.
Ya know, it's one game ... I think this team will be ok. I thought we were a bit over rated from the time those rankings came out. We are a very young, very guard heavy team .... who will win at least 20 games and get a 4-6 seed in the dance.

I was frustrated watching the game also. I'm Mr. Big Ten when everyone (other than Purdue) plays outside of conference.
MSU seemed to be doing things a little to quickly. They'll be a very good team, but as the announcers said....it will take another year for Delvin Roe to fully recover from his surgery, so it could be a struggle at times.

MSU is embarrassing the Big Ten tonight vs. UNC. Either the Spartans aren't all they were cracked up to be or UNC is the most dominating team in a long while. Maybe it's both.
