You will have to ask the Taylor people about that........ I am just a MCC fan and oldtimer in Indiana basketball!

oldtimer or tubballfan,
What has happened with Bohnhoff?...Not returning?
Also, I think TU recruited quite a few transfers the last 2 years because they had to replace so much from losing Bell, Ford, Buechler, eventually Wright, etc... so they needed immeadiate help. Unfortunately, Cox was the only one who has panned out thus far...

For the record, I don't mind transfers at all. Last year TU signed three transfers; Cox, Bohnhoff, and Brinker.

Brinker never enrolled at Taylor. He originally agreed to come but then backed off and never attended.

Well, I don't really know much about any of the questions asked. If the player is worth recruiting, I would hope Patterson knows about it and is working at it. I also don't know any real facts as to why Bohnhoff is not returning.
As for Taylor signing anyone, I have yet to hear anything but haven't really asked around much, but if Taylor signed him like you said, I'm not gonna complain, does anyone know much about him, like his style of play, etc? I am a personal fan of transfers, mainly because a lot of times they come in and contribute right away and don't make as many freshman mistakes or take as long to develop. They got a few freshmen in this year, Kring, Gaeglein, and Benock. I'm really looking foward to recruiting season, should be good.

I'm impartial to transfers; for every one Alex Kock-like transfer that works out, there's five Jeff Bohnhoff's that don't. I'd take the gamble, though.

Ok, are you sure he signed with Saginaw Valley, because I see nothing about him there.

He graduated in '05 and went to SV for one year. I heard he was enrolled at Ball St. this previous year. I believe he has 3 years of eligibility left but would be a junior next year otherwise. Last year he even considered Taylor in the spring too from what I heard. He is a great player...I remember seeing him play for M.C. and he is a great point guard and plays smart but knows how to score and is extremely competitive. I don't think I need to say much else...other than keep in mind that he was in fact top 15 from the '05 class that had Dominic James, Basset, Zeller, and of course...McRoberts.

You have to check back two years or goggle, Alex Daniel. He came home midway last year and then went to another school this year; I am not sure he played though this year. Jamie Matthews from Manchester signed him originally at Saginaw. He is a strong physical player who can shoot the ball. I would think he would play as a 3 and swing over to 2 at times.

Here's the 411 on Alex Daniel. These are his 2005-06 stats from Saginaw Valley:
16 GP, 7 GS, 22.7 MPG 4.3 PPG 4.1 RPG 30 assists 13 steals 28% FG (19-68) 23% 3-ptr (6-26) 75% free-throw (24-32)
Saginaw went 9-18 overall and 4-14 in the GLIAC. You would expect some development over the year and a half, but I wouldn't consider Daniel to be someone who will come into the MCC and dominate.

I saw on the South Bend news that SB Adams player Carl Steen has decided to go Goshen...I also heard them say "Goshen recruit" Zach Troyer last night, so they must be in on him as well.

I can't find any info online about that but maybe nobody has posted it yet.
Zach Troyer (Northwood High School) 6'4" forward, leads NW with 15.5 ppg. Carl Steen (SB Adams) averaged 10 ppg on a very balanced Eagles team.
Congrats to Goshen if they did, in fact, sign these guys!

I saw this in the newspaper today...
New Prairie football coach Bart Curtis announced Wednesday that more of his senior football players will continue their careers at the collegiate level.
Jeff Vervynckt, a two-year starting linebacker and fullback and a full-time special teams player on the 2004 Final Four team, will play at The University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Vervynckt had 704 rushing yards on 98 carries (7.2 yards per carry) with 10 touchdowns. Defensively, he had 128 total tackles, three sacks, eight tackles for a loss, two interceptions and five fumble recoveries.
...Vervyckt also averaged 19 ppg for the Cougars. I wonder if he'll be called upon for both sports.

They did have a guy who played some BB a few years ago who was also the QB, I think. It's just so hard to do since their football season is still going on when BB's games have already started. If USF keeps going to the NAIA championship in football, that's not played until early December. Awful late to join a BB team after that.
