And that's not what I was getting at. I was referring to the kids that will get less than expected PT, or they realize they aren't cut out for college basketball, so they use academic focus (not saying they'll be struggling with grades, but maybe a kid wants to spend more time studying in Pre-Med?) as a politically correct reason to leave the team without causing speculation. I thought this was what you meant in your original post and don't be surprised if this is the case with a few of the BC players this coming season... Also in the case of Warren he will qualify for a nice amount of academic scholarship as his gpa was/is still above average although he was not on the state all academic list..a "hardship" case in which grants would come into play heavily is not much as a factor as some would assume, so that benefits bethel's recruitment of Warren if their are "basketball" funds lacking.

I am not sure that is possible to not count against the Athletic limit

A state grant awarded to a player does not count against the athletic limit.

I believe HU offers a special scholarship to minority students through YFC and those would still count against the athletic limit if they played a sport...I believe...

The key is "institutional aid." If the aid comes from an outside source, like the state, then it does not count.

Just would like to maybe help clear some things up on some of the financial issues along with the playing time with all of the BC recruits coming in. The Pilots no longer have Jake Everett and Robby Gingerich on the team.

BC4Life, have they left Bethel or just the team? If they've left BC, do you know where they'll be transferring to?

Grace's men's basketball team signed Rensselaer Central High School's Jacob Goodman for their 2010-11 season.
"I chose Grace because the institution has a desire to teach and guide students through the word of God," Jacob said. "I hope to earn playing time on the varsity team."
Jacob is a 6 foot 1 inch shooting guard that averaged 13.7 ppg, 3.14 rpg, 2.82 apg and 1.18 spg during his senior year at Rensselaer. He played varsity basketball for four years and earned All-Conference, All-Area and Team-MVP awards during his final season. He also played linebacker his freshman year for the football team.
"Jacob is a quality student-athlete that will be a great fit for Grace," said Rensselaer Central head coach Kevin Sims. "He is a classic Indiana high school shooter that has continued to get better as a complete player every day."
At Grace, Jacob plans on majoring in business. He is the son of Tim and Tracy Goodman.

I've heard that due to Grace bringing in Grimm and being very guard heavy that Danny Goins will be looking to transfer out. Can anyone from Grace confirm this?

Rensselaer is a great little town...Had a friend there in high school when we visited him, we went to look at a local mysterious legend called "Moody Light" it was pretty cool!

Grace's bball team seems to be adding quite a bit to go along with a young team that finished strong last year . How do you think they will be next year?
