their wins because of playing a ineligible player in the 1st semester. They are currently ranked 4th or 5th in the naia poll just below Bethel.

This post here is 100% my opinion on what I think happened so do not think that this is the case. But USF got a Butler transfer Julie Seiss this season. She is leading the lady cougars in points assists and steals this season. The past 3 game Julie has not played. I am not sure if her not playing is from an injury or if something went wrong with the credit hours from Butler to USF or what. But, I truly hope this is not the case because USF has a great program and a great season going and Julie is a very nice player. Again this is just my take on this situation I have 0 sources behind this. This is all MY own research and thoughts.

Or she could be hurt? That seems to be the more likely scenario.

USF has or is telling the other conference schools about Julie being ineligible. That is why she has not played recently, she is eligible for the 2nd semester but USF can't risk playing her until they sort it out.I don't know if it was course hours or g.p.a that caused it.If the conference makes USF forfeit their wins they will have to win the conference tournament to get the automatic bid to the national tourney.

CHEATING.....I don't think Saint Francis would ever do it knowing what they are doing, I think it was a mistake somewhere.

sometimes schools cheat and sometimes they make mistakes -- a kid signs up for 13 hours and is eligible but drops a class without telling anyone and is ineligible; by the time the AD or FAR finds out, it's too late

We were just talking about this in some of our administrative meetings the other day at the NCAA DII level. The NCAA expects you to self-report violations each year. They know that they have so many rules and regulations that nobody can possibly be doing EVERYTHING correctly. If you don't self-report any violations in a given year, that's a red flag to the NCAA because they think you are hiding something.
Now, the NAIA doesn't have as many rules and regulations, but the point is that sometimes it's not on purpose, just as some of the others have said. Sometimes a kid does something and doesn't understand the ramifications, like dropping a class without telling anyone. And because there aren't as many rules in the NAIA, a lot is left to interpretation. And sometimes a school will interpret things one way and then find out that they were interpreting things wrong.

I'm no USF fan but hope this is a rumor.

USF self reported it when they found out. They didn't play her either.Apparently the FAR office missed it?USF just has to wait to see what punishment they may get.She is eligible for the 2nd semester but until they know what punishment is they can't risk playing her. I'm guessing they will have to forfeit their 1st semester wins and can keep their wins after they found out and didn't play her, but nobody knows yet.

that could make the tournament interesting if they end up with a 4 or 5 seed instead of a 1 or 2. changes the whole tournament.
