I am interested to hear more about Victor transferring...seems to me that many of us have been saying all season that he and Welch could both be very disappointed with their opportunities this season.
There is such a thing as over-recruiting.

and under-recruiting--you only know in hindsight because yiou can't predict injuries (something Victor dealt with)

There is certainly nobody that knows less about the Victor situation than I do. I do wonder though about the wisdom of a kid transferring.
There are occasions when this is best for a player, but just as many when it doesn't work, as we have read on this site recently.
I have to believe that Victor wasn't as far along in his development as a player as he and BC might have hoped or he would have played a much larger role (and I do recall he was set back early by injury which didn't help). If he were further along, I think that the coach would have used him more, even if it meant less floor time for Zeser or someone else. Coach Lightfoot is not going to favor one player just because he likes him if using another kid will better help the team. I don't believe any good coach would do that.
If Victor can go to a program where his skills fit immediately and play a key role, more power to him. I think, however, that if he does transfer, he is apt to have to basically sit another year and learn another system, meaning he would then have only 2 years left to play a great deal.
Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side, sometimes it isn't. I wish him the best whatever he chooses to do.

And sometimes the grass only looks greener. blue, I know even less about KC's situation than you do, but I would think that even if he had been healthy, he would have played behind Lightfoot and Brown, and perhaps Lanz as well? The situation will not change much next year, as Zeser is the only guard of any significance leaving the program.
To piggyback on what Cowboy said (and I have often raised the point of Bethel "overrecruiting" on this forum), you can't predict how injuries will go, and you also can't predict how a kid will "play out" in his career. Sometimes a high school kid who looks like a "can't miss", even at NAIA D2, becomes a colossal bust. Other times, a kid who start out mediocre, blooms late and becomes a quality player at NAIA D2.
My conclusion: Recruiting is both art and science.

Zeser is a kid that scored over 1000 pts for Bethel only to see his playing time decrease his senior year. Did he suddenly get worse? I understand a coaches job is to recruit better than he has and the players job is to make sure they stay on the bench. Probably off topic, but I thought the way he was treated this year was wrong, especially not starting, and hardly playing on senior night.
In Victor's case I know he was made promised that were not kept. Now, whether he got there and didn't produce, I wasn't in practice, I don't know. My point is that promises of playing time and the like should not be made, it is not right to the kid or team in any case. Just my two cents worth.

bdog, what promises are you talking about with K.C.? In Zeser's case I can see how he and family would be disappointed but no player is guaranteed a starting spot or playing time. The success of the team this year would show that something was right. When Zeser player on teams one and two years earlier they were not the same talent. He was caught with better players coming in taking his minutes and the victories proved correctly done. In K.C.'s case who do you think he is better than this last year to justify the success the team had? The coaching staff should be commended on going from 10 victories two years ago as a team to N.C.C.A.A. Champions (last year) and N.A.I.A. elite eight with 29 victories this year. Pretty remarkable if you ask me. I believe CUFAN said it right "recruiting is a both an art and science". Every year things and situations change that either open or close the door for each player. The bottom line is both of these young men are great guys and I wish them the best.

I know that the BC coaches would not promise anyone playing time to lure them to Bethel
I also know that other schools have told recruits to not go to BC because they would not get playing time as freshmen

Can we get any confirmation that Victor isn't coming back next season?

There is no confirmation...........I was told that "it's just a rumor, and it's not basketball related."
That being said........I wouldn't be TERRIBLY surprised if KC left, but I wouldnt' be surprised if he was back next year. He's very important to the future of the program and I really hope he sticks it out.

I heard he was going to transfer to IU because he'll be able to start there next year.

I heard he was going to transfer to IU because he'll be able to start there next year. So IU's starting lineup looks like: C Holmon PF Pritchard G Crawford G Roth G Victor? Sounds like a national champ to me! ;D

I bet they won't go to the Big Ten Tournament title game either. Count me impressed if they win 17 games.
