Rub brought up in another thread that it didn't surprise him that there are a lot of Republicans around bethelhoops.com. I'd like to test his theory (which has the potential to be true) here with this poll. Your votes are anonymous and there really doesn't need to be a debate. I'm also curious to see if you're going to vote in the primary (again, you don't have to write who you're going to vote for). I realize this might create pandemonium around here but... we have a bunch of months until basketball season returns.

It's like choosing the lesser of three evils this time around That's the truth. Or is it the least of three evils since there are more than two? Hmmm...anyway none of them excite me, but then I think our candidate selection system ends up giving us lousy choices. Can anyone name a major party candidate in the last 20 years that really excited them? OK, last 40 years? Maybe Democrats were excited about Bobby Kennedy in 1968, and then tragedy struck. But, the system has evolved since then, and in my view with that evolution the quality of presidential candidates has declined, too.

Can anyone name a major party candidate in the last 20 years that really excited them? I was really excited about Alan Keyes in 2000. I knew he had no chance to win, but I felt there was finally a candidate who's beliefs and ideals were close to mine. I lost some respect for him when he ran against Obama in the Illinois senate race. He reprimanded Hillary Clinton for moving to New York just to run for senate. Then he did the same thing because Obama was running unopposed. Oh well. I agree that this election it's the lesser of the three evils. As a Republican, the future doesn't look any better. Are there really any true conservative, likable, electable candidates out there? Not that I'm aware of

I voted for Perot in 1996, and Nader in both 2000 and 2004. This year I will vote for Ron Paul if he accepts one of the smaller parties nominations since he has been frozen out of the Republican nom.
I challenge each of you to find a 3rd party candidate who you like more than either of the three blind mice that most people will pick from and vote for him or her. Too many people say, "I would vote for a 3rd party candidate but then my vote won't count," but if everyone who said that did vote 3rd party then we might begin to see some change for the better. I believe a 3rd party needs something like 5% of the vote in a state to gain federal funding, your vote means more to get them to that plateau then it does to either major party.

I have a name that I would love to see run on the repulican ticket in 2012 and that would be Condoleezza Rice. I would support her for sure.

I don't really consider myself a republican or democrat, but I agree this election isn't great. I'm one of those people who tends to think leadership ability is every bit as important if not more important than stances on certain policies when it comes to electing any public official and especially the president. I love Obama's attitude and I think he'd be a great leader, but we disagree A LOT on policy. Hillary...we just won't go there. McCain and I agree on a lot of policy, but I can't stand him as a leader and I don't feel like having a 142 year old president. Turd sandwich or giant douche?

Thanks to wikipedia, I can read all about Operation Chaos. This is what Rush Limbaugh said about his idea, "On March 27, 2008, Limbaugh said "The dream end of this [of Operation Chaos] is that this keeps up to the convention, and that we have a recreation of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fire, and literal riots and all of that, that is the objective here [of Operation Chaos]."
Are you kidding me? Why would anyone EVER want riots to happen?
