Article on bethelhoops.com and bethelcollege.edu 2009 NAIA DII National Player of the Year and Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Year William Walker headlined the 2011 All-Star Dunk Competition in Sweden Sunday night. The 6'6 forward did not disappoint the crowd as he came away with the dunk championship crown becoming the first NAIA DII basketball player to ever win a professional league dunk contest. Walker also started in the 2011 All-Star game in Sweden. If that wasn't enough he earned the Most Valuable Player award with 25 points and 10 rebounds. "It's just a fun opportunity to go out and showcase some of your skills," the Michigan City, Ind. native said. "I've been blessed with some great people and coaches who have made me into the player I am today. Coach Lightfoot and his staff at Bethel really saw my potential and how good I could become. The credit for these accomplishments go out to them." At Bethel, Walker helped guide the Bethel Pilots to a Sweet Sixteen finish in 2008 and a Fab Four appearance in 2009 at the NAIA DII National Championship in Point Lookout, Missouri.
