www.pbasailfish.com/article.asp?articleID=1039I thought some of you might be interested to know that the school I work at, Palm Beach Atlantic University (NCAA Division II/NCCAA Division I) announced the hiring of MLB Hall of Famer Gary Carter as their new head baseball coach. A catcher with the Mets and Expos most famously and a member of the 1986 World Champion Mets, Carter most recently managed the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League this past summer. Pretty historic for our University today as he joins Tony Gywyn as current MLB Hall of Fame players coaching at the collegiate level. Gary's daughter is PBA's softball coach and led the Sailfish to the NCCAA National Championship last season.

That's awesome! Can we get some Gary Carter love on Bethel Hoops?

Wes, will you be calling him "Kid"?

I've known him for awhile now with his daughter as our softball coach and I can honestly say I've not thought about calling him "Kid" too many times.
But we have had some fun conversations about the sweet perm he used to rock back in his Expos/Mets days. Classic curls busting out from underneath the catcher's helmet.

That is awesome Wesley! It's pretty fun (at times) to work with some of those legends (or at least it's fun to tell others that you do).
