Quit high-jacking this Cubs thread with your Jay Bruce love affair. Alfonso Soriano made up for his defensive blunder earlier in the week with the game-winning single in the 10th tonight to give the Cubbies a 3-game sweep of the Dodgers. The Cubs are now 32-21 which is the best record in the National League and tied for the best record in baseball! Sure it's only 2 months into the season, but I'd rather be here than having dug myself a big whole early only to have to fight my way up like last year's team did. Keep it up Cubbies!

Who cares? The Cubs are in 1st place and the Reds are a half game out of the cellar. Throw out all the numbers you want, but at the end of the day it's wins and losses that matter.

Considering how poorly the Cubs perform away from Wrigley (10-13).......as a team and individually, I don't think your run at the top is going to last much longer.

Please! How many teams are above .500 on the road? 4 in ALL of Baseball!!! If the Cubs are a .500 team away from Wrigley, and the best team in baseball at home, how will their run at the top not last long?

You guys are ridiculous. Boston is 11-19 on the road yet no one bemoaning their chances of being in the post-season. Arizona is 11-13 on the road... anyone guessing they aren't going to win the NL West? Get serious guys. Just because your teams aren't doing well doesn't mean that you have to project your futility onto the Cubs.

I don't think anyone was projecting any futility on the Cubs, they are doing just fine in that department over the past 100 years

That's because the Red Sox have proven fire power. They'll be fine.
Chicago is Chicago........and when they start playing someone other than Pittsburgh on the road..you'll see it.

The Cubs were 41-40 on the road last year with a worse team. Why is it impossible to believe they won't have a similar road record this year?
The Angels were 54-27 at home last year and 40-41 on the road. I believe the Cubs final record will reflect something similar.

I hope the Reds enjoy Bruce, because Dusty is throwing his young starting pitchers arms off!
