MLS received a number of bids today for expansion teams...below is a list of cities...and notable investors for each team.
Ottawa - Senators Sports & Entertainment (Owners of NHL Team) Vancouver - Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns Guard) Miami - FC Barcelona (Spain Soccer Team) St. Louis - Long Islands - Wilpon brothers...(Mets Owners) Atlanta - Arthur Blank (Falcons Owner) Montreal - Gillet Family (Liverpool, Canadiens, Texas Rangers)

Before I saw this I read an article on it and noticed all the high profile investors trying to get teams, and all the Canadian interest as well.

I'm not sure this is the best thing. Expansion ended up killing the NASL back in the early '80's after being wildly popular due to the New York Cosmos and their assembly of all-stars. Maybe I'll be wrong.

There wasn't as much money involved with the NASL HIRG. The people that are investing in these teams are proven successful team owners and businessmen.
League attendance continues to climb in average each year.....sponsors are practically doubling each year....I think it's a homerun investment, especially if you're looking long term.
