My guess for IWU would be the following:
Coverstone- C Adler- PF Hubertz- SF Moon- SG Murrell- PG
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty confident about all the starters other than Hubertz but I'm very happy with that starting five.
Adler vs. Walker could be interesting because he might be the closest thing athletically to guard William Walker in the MCC. We will have to see though how much he plays close to the basket in the NAIA. NCAA Division I had him on the outside quite a bit.

I really have no clue who will start for us. If I was coaching, here's who I'd start.
Kaiser Henry Wienhorst Swanson Gaff
Then the top bench guys i think i would have
plumlee merrell johnson euler peattie kauffman eakins
but the guys who know basketball way better than me are the coaches, and they'll do an awesome job of picking who starts.

tubballfan, i think taylor will be ok if thats the lineup you have.
i think alex daniel and daniel cox are very solid guards... then i think goeglein is a taller version of josh merrick. he's a kid that will light teams up if they focus on others.
post players will be solid, and can always pass it back out to a.d. and d.c. for shots.

I don't think Grace will be hurting nearly as bad as projected. There is still a lot of talent there.

I'm a Grace fan and I see a lot of really solid players on the roster, but my big question is where is the offense going to come from. I don't see a lot of consistent scorers in the lineup, guys you can count on for 10-12 points every night out. Gaff is one, but other than that, nobody else has shown that they can do it consistently. Some of that may be because they took backseats to Marcus and Kyle Johnson in the past, but we're just going to have to see where the offense comes from. It's a good solid defensive team and they have a lot of hard-nosed "effort" guys, but my biggest concern is the offensive side of the ball from this team.

Just as proof of the lack of consistent scoring from this lineup, I went through last year's game-by-game stats:
Kaiser had one string of three consecutive games in which he scored 10 points or more (11, 10, 10) and only scored 12 or more in back-to-back games once. Wienhorst basically had exactly the same thing: he had one string of three straight games with 10 points or more (15, 11, 12) and only scored 12 or more in back-to-back games once. Swanson never scored 10 points more than two games in a row and had only one stretch of back-to-back 12 point games. Henry also never scored 10 points more than two games in a row and never had back-to-back 12+ point games. I know that those guys will get more shots in the 2008-09 season and should be able to post better numbers, but it hasn't yet been done in the past so I'm concerned about finding that legitimate second (and third) scoring threat.

Grace will be fine I think! Weinhorst is ready to step up and be a big time player for Grace! I personally think Plumlee should start over Henry...Plumlee is a smarter player...I feel like Henry tries to do to much and ends up making a lot of mistakes

Laborbd does make a good point but I would not say a lot of mistakes. Henry was a freshman last year and I think Kaiser made more mistakes ball wise then Henry. I would start Plumlee over Henry simply because in practice (most likely games) Plumlee would be a better defender and help Grace get points . Henry just does not have the passing skills as Plumlee does . Henry is a good player but I think the right choice is Plumlee but I know Coach K and he might start one of them one game and flip them the next game. Knaveljm, is right (like always) Grace does not have the one .. two.. three ... punch like last year . They lost to much with Marcus, Scott and K.J leaving. Yes this team is scappy but I hope someone besides Gaff can be their every game for Grace. One thing I do like is I do not think we are going to have a player score in the mid to upper 20's like last year every other game but I see alot of low teen's and single points on the stats. Which is going to make us a little hard to defend. I HOPE Grace can improve in the Ast./ TO ratio are this could be a long season for them ( Giving up to many TO's for fast break points).

the play where Sheckler went up and blocked walker's dunk attempt at HU may have been the most atheletic play I have ever seen from two players in the MCC. It was called a foul, but even Walker knew that was clean.

I agree, I think both of those 2 were the top of the class last year. I just wish we had Sheck one more.

It is interesting to me that most of these guys did not start last year, and their minutes were spotty depending on who Grace was playing and how the different players matched up. (Especially true of Henry and Swanson) I'm wondering if part of the variance in output is directly correlated to minutes played. Personally, I am expecting a big year for Swanson. He can be huge on the boards, and he has a really nice short to mid-range jumper. He could be the open guy as defenses collapse on Gaff. My biggest concern for Grace is depth in the Forward/Center positions.
