Does anyone know when the coaches have their preseason meeting where they rank the conference teams? It will be interesting to see how they rank everyone after Bethel. I agree with HIRG that IWU should be ranked second based on returning players. I think HU and USF have some real possibilities, but you just never know how things will mesh. It seems weird to even think that Taylor might be battling Marian for the right to make the post-season MCC tourney, though I'm not as convinced that Marian will be a doormat as Wesley is. They played a lot of young guys last year.

I won't be surprised if BC ends up ranked 2nd behind IWU
I'll post the rankings as soon as we get them

I'd be extremely surprised if IWU is ranked ahead of Bethel. Bethel made an Elite 8 run last year, and returns basically everyone. Adler may end up being a stud (which I think he will) but I don't think that will be enough for the coaches to justify putting IWU first.

I agree with Foresterfan. Very little chance IWU is ranked ahead of Bethel in the Preseason poll. Now postseason, ahhhh, just kidding.

I do not think that anyone can argue that Bethel is the favorite with IWU coming in behind them. After that I think that there is to much unknown to really determine where teams will follow. Will St. Francis new guys (sawywer-davis) mesh with the team, who will step up and lead for huntington, can grace recospond to losing so much, can goshen and spring arbor find enough pieces to be consistent each night, can taylor respond from the loss of reynolds, . My only thoughts on it are I cannot remember Taylor finishing lower than tied for 5th, so I would not count them out but other than I have no idea.

Reynolds is a huge loss, no doubt about it, but if you think that Patterson is just going to let this team roll over and die than you haven't paid much attention to Taylor basketball. Patterson will have this team in good shape and someone will step up and be fine, I just have to wait and see. I don't think they'll be top 4, but I could be wrong.

I tend to agree with TUB, having seen some of the Taylor teams that he's had succeed over the years.
They will be a very solid middle of the pack team that will jump up and bite a few front runners throughout the course of MCC play.
They will beat Bethel @ Taylor, in my opinion.

What are teams starters going to look like? A lot can change between now and the start of the season, but I see HU's 5 looking like this:
PG - Shively SG - Benge SF - Smith PF - Kyle C - Jolliff

I completely forgot about the Bobby Joliff transfer, that will CERTAINLY take a lot of pressure off of Smith and Benge. As for Bethel's starters,
PG - Lantz SG - Lightfoot F - Letinga F - Walker F - Brown

I'm looking forward to watching Joliff vs. Walker.

I'm looking forward to watching Joliff vs. Walker. That should be interesting. Jolliff has more size, but I'm not sure he has the mobility of Walker. Any other match-ups to note around the MCC?

let's be honest for a second though, does any center in the conference have the mobility of Walker? I mean, there are plenty of guys that have the size, but Walker is just much more athletic than anyone that will try and guard him in my opinion.
As for Taylor's starters, I honestly have no clue because I haven't seen all the recruits we have, nor have I heard much about the team yet. If I had to guess though, and I really do mean guess, it'd be something like this... Alex Daniel Daniel Cox Justin Goeglien Jacob Bream Jacob Burkholder
