I just got off of the phone with Robbie Lightfoot.
David Keister lost both of his parents last night in a car wreck. Please keep David and his family in your prayers. This news has absolutely broken my heart this morning. Very very sad.

This is unbelievably tragic. Even at 29 this would be the worst possible thing I could imagine. I know many former HU players were close with David through AAU ball. I am sure they will be showing their support.

My prayers are with this young man and his family. The Lord has a plan.
Who is David Keister? Is he a former Bethel basketball player?

David was First Team MCC in 2002-03.
Other awards included:
2002 and 2004 Martin Moneyheffer Mental Attitude Award Winner Team MVP - 2002-'03 NCCAA All American - 2003, 2004 NCCAA All Academic - 2003, 2004 NAIA All American - (HM) 2003, (HM) 2004 NAIA All Academic - 2003, 2004
When healthy, there wasn't a more dominating player on the court. He could absolutely glide in the air for rebounds and could shoot with his left and right hand. David led the state of Indiana in rebounding coming out of Churubusco High School.

David Keister is still my favorite Bethel basketball player. He was not only a great player but an incredible individual. My heart breaks for his family (I believe he has a sister as well) as they navigate through these tough times.

I couldnt believe it whenn I read it. Everthing that Dave is, is because of his parents. They were such great people. I didnt know them all that well, but everytime I talked to them at games or when they stoped my the dorm room, they were the nicest people that you would have ever meet. Very sad news indeed.
