Spring Arbor has published their 08-09 outlook on their website. They are missing a significant player from last year and look to have a couple of promising newcomers.

I assume he is referring to Darby Decker who averaged just over 10 points per game last season and was an All-Conference selection in the past I believe, but don't quote me on that. It seems like maybe he made the Honorable Mention list at one point during his career.

I don't know if this is related or not, but last year during Spring Arbor's first round MCC tourny game against Huntington, Decker was on the bench for most of the last 10 minutes of that game, and I don't think he was in foul trouble. I could be completely wrong, but just off memory I remember him not being in the game much near the end.

Decker is no longer with the SAU program, not because of any hard feelings or playing time. He simply chose to pursue a career that requires a lot of work and is choosing to focus on academics at this time. There was nothing that happened on or off the court that made his decision that much easier, he just realized that life right out of college is just around the corner and he is starting to prepare now. I commend him for that decision, however, he will surely be missed. He was a great player and a valuable asset to the team.
