Has anybody been reading the journal entries on the homepage? They are really interesting to read, especially the entries on Homer Drew players. Homer gives great insight into what each one of these players meant to the program.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of these!

Very cool to whoever is working on this.
You cannot argue with the tradition and pride of Bethel Basketball. It ranks right up there with some of the great programs at every level of college basketball.

It was fun to read about these guys. I have had the privilege to see most of them.
As a kid I went to see BC and watched Everett Waltherhouse, a prolific scorer, must admit I don't remember much, just seeing him.
Dave Riffel was just ahead of me. A graceful 6-9 athlete, who could have used more bulk. A 'Mark Spitz' look a-like if you remember him, curly dark hair and moustache. May have been one of keys responsible for getting BC bball rolling.
Greg Thomas proved you didn't have to score to be a big-time player. A skinny 6-5, he played great d and was always in on the big plays. Out of SB LaSalle, which always produced a lot of talent, though BC never recruited much out of there. Great team player, never lost his cool.
Hostetler was fun to watch, shock of blond hair (with a lot of scalp showing through, ha). Great team player, never heard of any complaining if he was on floor much or not.
Maybe my favorite was Biff Knowles. At 6-4, he was always going up against bigger opponents, but never backed down. He would run through a brick wall going for a rebound. Never saw him walk down the floor, always hustling. Lot of players now could learn from him.
O'Dell was simply born to play the game. Still don't know how he came to BC. Sat in a grad class taught by Homer Drew one summer. One classmate, it may have been Dean Foster, he sat behind me, asked Drew, "how did you get O'Dell to come to Bethel?" Coach Drew just smiled.
Great memories reading about these guys.

Todays installment is Dean Weirich...
"As a side-note, Only 3 individuals have won the Elkhart County scoring title on more than one occasion: Dean Weirich and Ryne Lightfoot. The third individual?...former Concord and NBA stand-out Shawn Kemp."
