With IWU, USF and HU looking like locks for Branson right now the CL will get at least three in and more than likely at least four. How about this scenario:
IWU over Taylor USF over SAU Grace over HU Marian over Bethel
Marian over IWU Grace over USF
Grace over Marian
Honestly this isn't anything I would be extremely taken back by if it happened. Is it possible six teams make it if this occurs? I kinda think Bethel would be left out in this scenario. We will know more tomorrow when we see where all the teams land in the rankings.
I would guess IWU is obviously still 6 or higher depending on how the teams did in front of them. USF probably around 14-15, HU a couple spots lower and Bethel coming in around the 19-21 range. Marian will probably be receiving votes I would think.
With the scenario, HU drops to probably 22 at worst, staying high enough for the tournament. Bethel would probably drop out of the poll, but still receive votes. Big bubble for them. Same goes for Marian although getting to the championship may put them in the 24-25 spot. Grace obviously goes at tourney champs.
6 teams is not completely out of the question, but still very unlikely.

I find this scenario interesting, but not very compelling. If, as someone wrote on here, it is the job of the rater to get as many teams as possible from his/her conference to nationals (which I vehemently disagree with, as I discussed in another thread), it would then be the job of the other raters to prevent an inordinate number of teams from one conference (and I know "inordinate" is subject to interpretation) making it to nationals. I do think that the CL will probably get 4 teams in, with 5 a possibility if Marian beats Bethel. But I just don't see 6 as even remotely possible. Just my opinion.

But its still fun to think about. It would also be more likely if there wasn't a final rating after conference tournaments. My guess is that if that scenario played out, the voters would punish the #4 and/or #5 crossroads team to keep it from occurring. I also suspect that none of the Crossroads teams wants to share a Branson bracket with a team from their league.

My biggest concern is that a Marian win over BC tonight puts the Pilots in the NCCAA.

Right now, we should be safely in at At Large #4 of 9. However, Marian is first out so I think tomorrow is a must-win to avoid being swapped with them in the final ratings before the national tournament.

I'm not sure what you mean by "swapped" - but if Marian beats Bethel, I don't think they would swap places in the rankings. I'm not even sure that Bethel would necessarily have to be ranked above Bethel in the conference/national rankings. Bethel would get more respect than that.

winning tomorrow is much safer than "hoping"

If Marian beat bethel I think they need to win more than just one game to switch spots with Bethel, my best guess would be if Marian wins and loses in the 2nd round that Matt Moore would tie Bethel and marian or leave it the same. Either way Crossroads is in the books for 4 teams no doubt to me.

As long as we win or St. Francis/Huntington gets to the championship with IWU, then no bids are lost for the Crossroads League. 4 teams go.

Sorry Bethel fans, but I'm hoping Marian wins tonight and again against IWU. I really believe Bethel is firmly in at 18 at this point. Marian needs one and probably two wins to make it. The more CL teams representing Branson, the better.

The more CL teams representing Branson, the better. You're probably right - one win for Marian over Bethel and they have a very good chance to get in. But a second win, even if they don't get to the finals vs. IWU, and Marian should be in for sure.

The more CL teams representing Branson, the better. At this point, I'd agree with you that Bethel is firmly in at #18. However, if Marian makes it to the championship game--win or lose that they'd be at least 2-1 since the last top 25 poll while Bethel would be 0-1--I think there is no way Bethel would stay ranked ahead of Marian in the next poll (tied in conference season, H2H advantage to Marian with win tonight), which would most likely burst Bethel's bubble seeing as they would slide in the rankings to around where Marian is now. Regardless of whether it's Bethel or Marian, I think the Crossroads League only gets 4 teams in, unless a miracle happens and there are no upsets in any conference tournaments and the bids remain the way they are right now with Marian receiving the final at large bid.
