Feb. 24th Poll
1. Indiana Wesleyan (25-5 / 15-3) 2. Saint Francis (Ind.) (13-5 / 21-9) 3. Huntington (Ind.) (13-5 / 24-6) 4. Bethel (Ind.) (12-6 / 23-7) 5. Marian (Ind.) (12-6 / 16-7)
Depending where we are at in the poll tomorrow and possible upsets in other conferences, but I would say it's leaning more towards yes we do need to beat Marian, than no we don't. Looking at last week's poll and where we'll be shuffled down, we're looking in line for at large bid #7 of 9 if things shake out the way I think in the poll tomorrow. So we'll probably be in the last 4 in.
In terms of Marian upending us in the poll the next week, I don't think this is a must-win for the sake of being ahead of Marian.

I'm curious why Marian only played 23 games, just 5 non-conference games.

Didn't see it before I posted - but I liked it, even though it made me feel redundant

The 22 team automatic berths are now completed. Now we just need to wait and see what the decision of the tournament selection committee . . . um, I mean the decision of the final raters is to see who gets the 9 at large berths. Can you tell I hate the fact that there is one more ranking after the conference tournaments?

Andrew Bowen made a good case for Chicagoland Conference teams at halftime of BC-GC game. Defending nat'l. champ Cardinal Stritch and St. Xavier are both 29-4 and Robert Morris (who dropped down from D1) is a very good team as well. All 3 of those could make noise.

the only team in line for an at large bid as of now that i think needs to be worried about the poll coming out today is ashford (#23 national, #45 massey) and currently second to last in. losing to 15-15 northrn new mexico does not make a strong case for them to receive an at large bid when much tougher teams like southern oregon (#26 national, #18 massey) or hastings (#28 national #16 massey) are sitting there close behind.
if conference raters keep their teams rated the same, concordia oregon (#2 in ccc) won't have trouble getting in, nor should oklahoma wesleyan since they lost to top 10 opponent bellevue in the mcac championship. i think embry-riddle is sweating a little, being #4 in sun and getting upset in the first round, but other than ashford, i think the other 9 at larges are safe
