I'd put Benner on this list for the Pilots before Miller, personally.

I believe Hogan refers to Rob Hogans of SAU not Josh Hogan of USF.
Haven't seen Hogans play, but he seems pretty unguardable as stated before. However, it's not leading to a ton of wins for his team. I would lean toward the best players on the best teams. Kohne, Merryman and Weidner have all been major contributors throughout their careers and are having great senior seasons as well. My vote goes to one of them.

I'd put Benner on this list for the Pilots before Miller, personally. Ryan Benner has had a great year, I would vote for him as POY also. Miller is not a POY candidate this year but when a team plays Bethel the first thing they do defensively is figure out to guard Miller. The over play on him opens it up for everyone else. When he went down in the 2nd half of the SFU game the Pilots were up by 15, they lost that game and the next 2 while he was injured. Without those losses Benner would be the hands down favorite for POY, and Bethel would have a couple game lead in the conference race. If Benner is not POY he should be a lock for 1st team all-conference.

The numbers don't lie!

I was confused between the Hogan of USF and Hogans of SAU but I was speaking of the SAU player. And in looking I would also agree Benner would be a much more viable player for these talks but Miller is also very nice I will say!

Question to ponder, does a players ability to play defense weigh in the decision? I would love to see how many points each one of the contenders has allowed this year. To be honest a few of the best scorers are not very good on defense, maybe they should call it the offensive poy. With that said My top 5 would be Kohn, Hogans, Merryman, Weidner and Benner. Total package including defense I would vote for Kohn but expect Weidner to win it.

I know that distinction may seem to be rather strange, but I think of the best player as the best individual player - best scorer (primarily - thus the "best offensive player" above), best rebounder, most double doubles, etc., vs. the best player - the guy who makes everyone around him better. He scores when he needs to, but he also gets the ball to the bigs, neutralizes the other team's best player, etc. So I think of POY as an MVP - the one player who is not only a good player, but also makes the other guys on his team better. Perhaps this is why the award so often given to the guy who is on the team that wins the championship.
