Goshen College head men’s basketball coach Neal Young will take a temporary medical leave of absence, the athletic department announced Tuesday afternoon. Second-year assistant Brandon Lokken will take over as acting head coach. Young was named Maple Leafs coach in April. Three months later, he was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Since that diagnosis, Young has been undergoing a series of rigorous treatments. At the advice of his doctors, Young has decided that his best next step in the healing process will be to take some time to recover.

Coach Young is a class act. One of my sons was recruited by Goshen when he was an assistant coach. While my son didn't like the school, he loved coach Young. Coach you will be in our prayers and we pray for your quick recovery.
