I agree with you, about the Association leadership, they all should have been replaced 8 years ago. But I also think it has a little to to with conference leadership as well. Many conference commissioners don't know what is going on around them, in there conferences, or in regional D2 and D3 conferences.
I think you see the AIA as a problem, I see it more of a symptom. But you are right, the NAIA needs to bring all conference commissioners together and restructure conferences (or at least purpose) potiential alignment changes that make more sense geographically, in sports offered and in the philosophy of its members. The strong conferences are the ones that have all of these characteristics.

It has to be tough for a NAIA commissioner, very limited budget to work with.
Agreed on your points above...let's hope they find a point where they can work to make it last, not to just survive. They have a lot of work to do...
