Kylee Ehrsam, 5’3 senior guard from Bellmont High School, has made a commitment to continue her basketball and academic careers for the 2008-2009 season at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN.
Kylee averaged 7.7 points, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 assists a game for Coach Tory Fuelling. The “Squaws” of Bellmont had a record of 14-8 this season losing in the second round of sectionals. Kylee was a four-year letter winner and played her first three years under Coach Lou Koning. Kylee will be teammates this fall with former Bellmont great, Brittany Cook (senior).
“Kylee is a very scrappy point guard and loves to compete,” states Bethel College Head Coach Jody Martinez. “She will bring a lot of energy into the program. Her work ethic is very impressive on and off the court. I respect Kylee on how much she is involved with different activities outside of basketball and in the classroom. She is in the Top 10% of her class and has received an academic scholarship along with her basketball scholarship. We are blessed to have Kylee join the Lady Pilots family at Bethel College.”
“I am going to Bethel College because I like the Christian atmosphere that I will be surrounded by to help me grow in my faith,” states Kylee Ehrsam. “Bethel College also provides me with the opportunity to become educated in my field of study and become a part of a basketball team that has been very successful.”
Kylee was a four- year letter winner in softball and a three-year letter winner in volleyball. Other school-related activities that she has participated in during her senior year: SAAC (Substance Abuse Awareness Council); National Honor Society; SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions); French Club; “Walk for Life – Hope Clinic”; Cancer Relay for Life and Cancer Shootathon; and helps coach with the elementary age students in basketball and volleyball.
