Lee University President Paul Conn initiated renewed buzz about Lee’s football future via Twitter on April 10, 2012 by tweeting, “Are we ready for football at Lee? I’ve always said ‘no’ but maybe it’s now time to take a fresh and serious look at the question.”
The tweet was used to indicate that actions are being taken to discover what might be involved in making football a part of Lee athletics in the future, Conn said.
“It’s never actually been on the table…I haven’t been open to it,” Conn said. “I’ve decided the time has come to take a good hard look and to actually [do the research], and then decide if it’s a good fit for Lee.”
