Chicago Simeon recently won it's 3rd straight Illinois state basketball title. In doing so, their star Jabari Parker won the Illinois Mr. Basketball. He was the first junior to ever do that in the 32 years the award has been handed out.

Well I think the award would have been vacated had they forced it to go to a senior in Illinois this year. The dearth of talent in the 2012 class is sad.

LeBron won Ohio's player of the year or Mr. Basketball 3 times.

It's impressive anyway...I just had to check because I thought that it had happened recently...may have been a couple others in other states...Dwight Howard maybe in GA.

In Indiana only a senior can be Mr. Basketball as it is tied in to the Indiana- Kentucky series where Mr. Basketball wears # 1 and the teams are made up entirely of seniors. My pick for Mr. Basketball in Indiana this year is Yogi Ferrell.
