The Graying of Marino's Records

A good story on the sad fate of my boyhood hero's many NFL records passing by the wayside. He does a good job of pointing out how instrumental Marino's '84 season was on the shift in the NFL from primarily a running game to a primarily passing game. Now, with all of the restrictive defensive rules, the 5,000 yard passing season is becoming common place, much like the 60 HR year became in the steroid area.

never a big Marino fan but he could sure throw a football--it was almost a 2012 offense against defenses not quite ready for it. He is the prime example of why a QB can be considered great without a SB win.
