Kyle...even if that's true...then we need WAY more depth at these positions... I don't think you have to have the best QB in the world to win Super Bowls...and I think the can't miss guy does sometimes miss... I would rather get a guy like RG3, if it meant we could get some OL, WR and CB help...this team needs to be better all over. Manning could give us a couple years at slightly lower level and a better all around team still could get to the play offs. I think WR is the least of your worries with Wayne, Garcon, and the little white Mormon (can't remember his name). Definitely need some O-line help and some secondary help. A running back wouldn't kill you either.

Eh, I am more comfortable with Carter, Addai, and brown if we had a stronger OL. Garcon is actually pretty terrible. He makes SOOOO many drops. Reggie Wayne is good enough, but aging quickly, and Collie is one good hit away from never playing another game.
I would love the Colts to get a Blackmon or Floyd type WR talent again...Play with Wayne a couple seasons and get a better slot guy who isn't going to get killed.

I think there's always the potential for the slot guy to get killed. It's still the NFL. Look at Amendola in St. Louis. He had a great year last year, and was poised to break out this year before getting the daylights beat out of him week 1 this year and didn't play a snap the rest of the year. It is what it is. None of the RB's you listed excites me much. I think they're all just "guys", but yes, even a stud RB won't amount to much without an O-line.

THis is the mock draft I tend to follow the most: walterfootball.com/draft2012.phpIf Manning sticks with the Colts, I think the Browns would be the best trade partner for help for Manning right now. The Browns have the 4th, 23rd, and 37th picks in the 2012 draft. If we could get their first and 3rd next season, bam, we are set for good talent. I think with the 4th, Griffin, Blackmon, or Kalil would be guaranteed to be available. Each would meet a need. With the 23rd, we could get more OL or WR depending on the first pick with the players going in this range already. And 2 top second rounders could add to the depth as well. If Manning doesn't come back, I would almost be tempted to go this route anyway, because If Griffin were still available at 4th, I would think Griffin with a Strong wideout talent, and stronger OL would also be better than Luck alone. Combine will be interesting to see where things come around in April.

While I hate the Patriots, I would love that situation for Illini DE Whitney Mercilus as that mock has him projected to with the #30 pick in the 1st round.

Well, he has proven he can get players when he can pay them...

Colts had a great run of success--NFL is set up to create parity--when you win, you get crappy draft picks and tougher schedules and you lose a bunch of guys to free agency--not much separating the teams, and a few injuries can doom a season
but I agree that they have not drafted well, especially with early picks
