Well, I'm not terribly upset. He would have been a nice get for the publicity, but a drop back QB isn't going to be effective at IU until someone can block for him.
In the mean time, True FR Tre Roberson showed that he is more than Capable of leading a Big Ten offense and being a key fixture in the turn around of IU Football. If you take a look at the incoming recruits, 90% of them are on the defensive side of the ball....with several coming from JUCO. EVERY juco commit will be enrolling in January and will most likely be starting from day one. Major upgrades in very important spots.

As a Bama fan, I hope he sucks.

Much more pressure at LSU right now than at ND...... I meant playing for an in-state school where your uncle (I believe) starred. I think there would be a lot more pressure for him to succeed in South Bend. If he craps out at LSU, it's no big deal. Plenty of high profile players go to out of state schools and fail, but it's not as big of a deal as when they flame out at in-state schools. You may have a different opinion, but I've seen plenty of examples to back up my point of view.

In a crazy turn of events it appears as though Kiel will be Notre Dame bound after all. He has decommitted from LSU and it sounds like he will be going to ND. Huge pickup for the Irish.

He's a wimp...just like his brother........and just like his father.
This kid will have a nice career of being overhyped. Why on earth would any fan of any team call this kid a "big pick up" at this point? Is his indecision and rumors of being a primadonna not enough to scare anybody away? Notre Dame has a great record of wasting highly rated QB's in the last decade...and it doesn't appear to be stopping now.
Enjoy this kid and his family Irish fans haha

He probably watched the National Championship game and wanted no part of the SEC - can't say that I blame him

Feller, when Tommy Rees is your starting qb, any qb pickup is a huge pickup...

I really don't have a dog in this hunt (like Feller whose team was spurned by Gunner) but I saw him play once on TV and was not overly impressed and he's obviously a bit fickle--how many QBs does ND have now (not including the 2 or 3 that leave every year).

I'm sure there is a really good explanation for his committing and de-committing from IU and LSU. I'm not sure he could've cut it in the SEC.
I'm with Cowboy on this one as well. Not too impressed with him when watching him play a couple of times this year. Time will tell though.

he's young and might grow out of it and become a great QB for ND--as a Bama fan, I'm always glad to see LSU lose a recruit

Guess who is transferring from ND? Yup, none other than Gunner Kiel!
