Spencer Harris averaged 2.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, and 2.8 apg. Towards the end of the season, he was starting or getting a bunch of minutes for UT-Martin. He's 6'1" and 175 lbs.

Taylor will have a inside presence next year in a 6'5", 240lb. junior college transfer who was also a all state tight end in football who turned down major colleges in football to play his favorite sport basketball. One major coach also predicted that Taylor's Alex Daniel will be the best guard in the conference! I am not saying I agree with that but that is the word. Look for Taylor to announce their class in early May.

Unless Eric Ford is coming back, I'm not worried too much about Taylor next year. I think they'll be 5th to 7th place in the conference.
And, to think that Alex Daniel will immediately be the best guard in the conference is a tough pill to swallow. I bet he'll be good but I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be the best. I think Jason (knaveljm) said that Saginaw Valley State isn't/wasn't a very good team.

Spencer Harris is SOLID. Daniel is REAL good...the MCC is getting some top notch players!
You know Paul Patterson won't go 2 years in a row in the bottom half of the conference haha...he always finds out how to get some studs into the cornfields

GoIrish, I'm starting to question your loyalties! Paul Patterson can and will go one more year in the bottom half of the conference. I need you to say that.

A major coach may say that, if they are unaware who else is coming into the conference, or who else is in the conference...I just looked at his stats at Lakeland community college...He got decent numbers on poor Junior college team. They lost to every NAIA team they played I think.
He will NOT be better than the following Guards already in conference: Benge, McCollum, Murrell, Lightfoot, Luke Smith, etc., And those coming in: Laidig at least and if a couple of the guys HU is talking to sign on the dotted line, I think we will have some of the best guards in the conference for years to come...

Rub... it's time you dish out who HU is recruiting. I'm intrigued...

Well, the "biggest" fish, is obviously stil the biggest question mark, and the coaching staff is not doing much to show their hand...I know that currently there are at least 6 targets and and 4 are guards...Which kind of makes me wonder if we are going to be the NAIA Villanova next year...
I guess one guy I can say, because I heard it from a student at BSU that knows the kid personally, so, no HU people have to say anything about it. My source here, who lives in my building (and is transferring to IWU next year to play...) told me that Wes D.ickinson has told him first hand that he is playing at HU...I have not heard anything from HU indicating that he has actually been offered or accepted, but he seems like a good player that would fit the bill...
Here are some quotes I found in the comments section of an article that mentions Wes...
What people are saying about Wes Dickinson:
"There are a lot of good athletes and skilled basketball players, but what really separates Wes in my mind is he combines athleticism with skill and then he has that competitive fire. He just has a competitive drive that is second to none." -- Brian McCauley, Kokomo head coach
"He is an outstanding athlete and an overall talent. He has excellent quickness — he is the quickest kid we’ve played against so far this season — and he has skill. He is a guy who makes plays that you can’t coach. He does positive things offensively and defensively and he plays hard. He just brings a lot to his team." -- Dave Wood, West Lafayette head coach
"He knows his limits and he knows his strengths. He plays to his strengths and he makes his teammates better." -- Al Rhodes, Logansport head coach
"Dickinson is as good as I’ve seen this year and maybe in a couple years. We tried to double him and couldn’t get him stopped even with two guys. When he got through us, he found the open guy if he didn’t have his shot." Rick Peckinpaugh, McCutcheon head coach
"Western's Wes Dickinson is incredible. He can shoot. He can drive. He can guard. He can rebound. He can pass. He's incredible." Tom Davis, Peru Tribune managing editor

Just to reiterate...I do not expect a kid (Alex Daniel) who had to battle for minutes on a bad NCAA DII team to come into the MCC and be the BEST guard in the conference.
The kid averaged 22.7 minutes and 4.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 30 assists in 16 games. The rebounding numbers are fairly impressive for a guard, considering the minutes, but I would expect comparable numbers in the MCC from the kid, unless he has made some major improvements in the 2 years he will have been out of the game.

Also remember that Alex Daniel will be playing on a Taylor team that averages about 60 points per game and limits possessions. His shot attempts will be limited as will his opportunities to hand out assists.

I'm not gonna get publically excited about anything until I hear stuff officially from Taylors website. I may be excited on the inside, but I'm gonna try and stay skeptical. Taylor never releases their recruits until june it seems, so if they release it in May than I guess that could be a good sign. I just hope Patterson gets some good guys, but I guess that is yet to be seen. I really like basketball season, too bad it's so far away...

D_ickenson and Shively are only two of several solid recruits we are looking to bring in, including one on the Indiana top 40 workout list and one other instater and another 2 out-of-stater's. I am liking our recruiting class more and more each day!
