FW South Side and FW Northrop combined for 151 points, with Purdue recruits Rapheal Davis and Bryson Scott combining for 83 of those.
South Side junior Rapheal Davis scored a school-record 53 points; but his team still lost 79-72 on the road to Northrop on Tuesday. Davis was 25 of 27 from the free-throw line, while hitting 11 field goals and two three-pointers.The total was just three points shy of the city record set by James Hardy 8 years ago. Northrop was led by the 30 points of Bryson Scott.
Although it doesn't mean much due to the different levels of competition, from what I can find, high point outputs this year in the state are: Zach Richie; Oregon-Davis: 55 Rapheal Davis; FW South Side: 53 Nic Moore; Warsaw: 50 Austin Richie; Lowell: 47

Illinois just offered Kendall Stephens, a 6'3 guard from St. Charles, Illinois. The reason I put that here is that Kendall's dad is former Purdue star Everette Stephens and Kendall seems to like Purdue a lot, yet the Boilermakers have yet to offer. Painter has made some curious recruiting decisions lately such as not holding an offer for another legacy Gary Harris (his mom was a star bball player at Purdue), or taking too many out-of-state kids in the 2012 class which is the best in Indiana in a long time. Now, when a stud kid would love to go to your school, Purdue is late to the game again. Maybe I'm biased here, but I think Painter is screwing up big time. blogs.suntimes.com/hoopsreport/2010/09/another_big_thing_in_2013.html

Purdue finally offered Stephens. I guess the Illini offer forced their hand. It will probably be an Illinois-Purdue battle with Purdue as the leader at this point. He says he's probably going to make a decision this summer.

Well the decision came earlier than this summer. Stephens was at Wisconsin to watch the Badgers upset #1 Ohio State Saturday and then went to Champaign to visit the Illini... and watch Purdue beat the crap out of them. Therefore, today he chose the Boilermakers.

Purdue's on a roll right now locking up 2013 stud PF Basil Smotherman. Good for the Boilers... maybe they're still stand a chance against Indiana once Hummel leaves.

Smotherman is a nice player.
Outside of the kids already committed to Indiana....there are other high major kids in the younger classes that have to go somewhere. I think he's pretty much been a Purdue guy for several months now.

I think I could manage to score 55 in a game if I shot that many times too.

Well considering Yogi's a PG and Smotherman's a PF probably a center in HS, I'm not sure you can say he put up 35 "on" Smotherman. Maybe on Smotherman's team, but it's not like Smotherman was guarding him.

You can watch the video and see Smotherman several times trying to stop Yogi.
