I come across great things that happen daily in the MCC/NAIA, and I wonder sometimes, would these things happen in the NCAA?
So I wanted to start this thread to recognize this uniqueness.

In BC's Chapel today there was prayer for the student's family and friends and for the entire Grace College community. Another example of why MCC membership so special. (and to some extent NAIA membership is so unique)

Everyone remembers the CCAC golfer that hit the ball out of bounds to help another make it to the National Championship.

Personal experience: Friend and teammate of mine stopped in the middle of the NAIA national cross country championships hurting his own finish, costing us a few points and maybe one place in the standings, to help up an IWU's star runner up after being pushed to the ground. That IWU runner ended up finishing as an AA.

(and to some extent NAIA membership is so unique) This has nothing to do with the MCC/NAIA and everything to do with the values of these institutions.

Yes, it does say something about character, but do you really think that the close connection between MCC members has nothing to do with this?
Did BC pray for the IU kid that died at BSU, or the Purdue freshman that died in Lafayette? Just wondering.

Did BC pray for the IU kid that died at BSU, or the Purdue freshman that died in Lafayette? Just wondering. They might have. I graduated a while ago so I haven't been there during those times. The proximity between Bethel and Grace coupled with being in the same conference is going to help your case. But, being in the MCC/NAIA didn't make them do what they did. A sports conference has NOTHING to do with the faith that these institutions share. And their faith informed them to share each other's burdens and to pray. If Grace and Bethel would go to the NCAA and be in the same conference, I'm sure they'd still pray for each other.

True, but my contention is that this likely happened at a lot of MCC schools. And that supporting fellow conference members is common place in this conference. Which my experience is that it is not common place in NCAA conferences. If you disagree fine, that's your right.

though the MCC schools are fierce competitors, it is our faith in Jesus that keeps it all in perspective (usually)--I love that kool aid
