Joining former teammate Brandon Moore as Minor League Baseball All-Stars, former Indiana Wesleyan standout Brandon Beachy has been selected to the mid-season Southern League All-Star team for his excellent work on the mound as first a reliever and now a starter. Both pitchers last played for the Wildcats during the 2008 season and have now since surprised even some Wildcat fans by transitioning into very successful and promising pro careers. Moore is currently at High-A within the New York Mets organization while Beachy has played this season at Double-A with the Mississippi Braves. Beachy has moved into the starting rotation of late for the M-Braves and has proven to be electric. His overall record is 2-1 over 55+ innings pitched with 67 strikeouts and a sparkling 1.29 earned-run average. If the big club the Atlanta Braves didn't have such a good team with a dynamic bullpen, Beachy might be considered a favorite to earn a promotion to the big team if there were an injury or a late-season call up. I suppose we shall have to wait and see. Either way, its great to see Beachy along with Moore having such great success after wearing the Wildcat uniform. mississippi.braves.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100701&content_id=11803276&vkey=news_t430&fext=.jsp&sid=t430(Beachy is the one pictured on the far right of the photo).

Based on the response of this board it doesn't appear that many care, but I've been very impressed with Brandon Beachy's amazing results as a professional pitcher in the Atlanta Braves organization, both as an IWU fan and the world's biggest Atlanta Braves fan. Here is an article talking about his journey so far as a professional. www.gwinnettdailypost.com/gbraves/headlines/99995529.html
