Cowboy...please note: Humor is actually easier to identify when it is "funny". I will let you know when you achieve this...
Feller, also note, went from 1 win to the team THAT SHOULD be dominate in the conference. Then actually become dominant. Read huntingtonfan's comments again to be reminded how "not quite dominant" they are. Remember how much easier recruiting is when two of your starters are family of the program. That talent stream is coming to a screeching halt in about two years, right? Was Homer Drew a great recruiter to land Drew at Valpo?

I guess that explains William Walker...Tyler Brown...Caleb Laidig....Wes Laidig....Mark Lettinga.
Not your best effort Rub........not at all.
I"m excited to see the excuses this year as to why Coach Lightfoot has experienced success. We all know it isn't because of recruiting ability or coaching ability...there always seems to be 360 other reasons, right Huntington fans?
Meanwhile, you're convinced that a man that never got the job done was a great coach.....expectations are everything guys. You should adjust yours.

The win at Grace was a very good result.........especially considering that Grace is now 16-2 in their new gym. I don't care who they lost...they got a career night out of their best player and had a number of other kids put up near career numbers. It was the biggest game of the season for Grace.....and most teams are jacked for that game. Also, Bethel has now gone 14-1 in their last 15 games......... -Good point and both loses came to Bethel

To change the subject a bit, but to still talk about coaches and recruiting: Why didn't Ty Platt play for Huntington?

Ty wanted to play for a decent program possibly. HC wasn't very good when he played. And for clarification, his dad was not the coach then.

The thing is that they aren't dominant this year. I'm saying, we'll have a better idea of if they will be dominant after they actually play somebody who will/should give them a challenge. They almost lost to a team that was picked to finish in the bottom half of the conference, this doesn't bode well for convincing people that they are "dominant." Dominance is like UNC beating Nortre Dame in basketball handily, having a team take you to overtime in your first game that's a real test, that shouldn't have been a real test, isn't. Nobody is saying Bethel is a bad team, we're just saying that to call them the dominant team in the conference is a stretch.

Having just watched the game......there is no question that Grace played a sensational game, and it was a packed house. Basketball isn't as easy as 1+2=3, there are variables all over the place....and I'm not convinced that Bethel isn't very good because they only won at Grace by six points.
I'm still waiting on somebody else to win a game at Grace.........stilllllll waiting.

there's a difference in the word "dominant" and very good. Nobody would say that Bethel isn't a very good team. They just argued with your statement that they were "the dominant team" in conference. If they beat IWU by a good amount, then maybe we can start throwing words like that around, but it's hasty to call them that just yet.

My final note on this subject...in this thread.
If you judge a college basketball team by what they do in December, then you've missed the point.

You called them Dominant...what was that based on? Your own comments: "This year you have every right in the world to expect a solid win every time the pilots step on the court this season, and you are acting far less confident than you did when Ryne was a frosh. I predict, even in conference, Bethel will average a double digit margin of victory throughout the season. I think IWU is the only team that really can match up at all, with a few other teams having a chance to catch you on an off night. When everything is working, 10 point victories will be the norm. - Rubalamp in Clints Grace/Bethel Predition Thread"

I don't think there will be a dominant team in the MCC. I have very good reasons to hope that Bethel will win the most games. It certainly would not hurt my feelings if Bethel proved to be the dominant team through the regular season and the MCC tournament. That, of course, remains to be seen.

Ty wanted to play for a decent program possibly. HC wasn't very good when he played. And for clarification, his dad was not the coach then. I knew that his father, Coach Steve Platt, had not started coaching at Huntington. I could see why Ty might want to go to a school outside the MCC.

Some results of interest to those of us in MCC world. These are names that I'm hearing are being recruited throughout the MCC circuit. As the season progresses and kids start taking visits, more names will appear.
Northridge Raiders 40, Westview Warriors 37 Adam Christner - 12 pts
Angola Hornets 88, Wawasee Warriors 81 Wes Kaiser - 14 pts
Triton Trojans 92, Oregon-Davis Bobcats 62 Colton Keel - 25 pts Griffyn Carpenter - 24 pts Eric Baum - 33 pts
