This was certainly a match that will go down as one of BC legendary victories.

From the Bethel Athletics website:
Bethel improves to 10-0-1 on the season with the 6-3 victory over Spring Arbor University on Saturday night. Romulo Nobrega put Bethel on the score board early with a goal in the 3rd minute. The rest of the first half was a series of cards along with two goals from Spring Arbor that left Bethel one goal, and two men down [due to red cards] going into the locker room at half time. After an early goal by Spring Arbor, the Pilots [playing 2 men short] took over the game in the second half scoring five unanswered goals. Jorge Marquez, Daniel Moyo, Romulo Nobrega, and Arron Patrick all scored for Bethel in the second half. Nobrega and Patrick both finished the game with two goals and two assists. The Pilots will now face Huntington University on October 7th at 7:00 pm in Mishawaka.
I'll leave it to more learned commentators to fill in the details.

After reading this, I had to look at Bethel's roster. Is it common for an NAIA soccer program to have more foreign players than American players?

After reading this, I had to look at Bethel's roster. Is it common for an NAIA soccer program to have more foreign players than American players? Out of curiosity, I looked up the top 5 programs in NAIA and here's how they pan out. #1 Bethel (TN) - 20 #2 Asuza Pacific - 2 #3 Notre Dame (OH) - 13 #4 Lindsey Wilson - 22 (only 4 Americans) #5 McKendree - 15

After reading this, I had to look at Bethel's roster. Is it common for an NAIA soccer program to have more foreign players than American players? just the successful ones... Not trying to be funny, but it's true. APU is an exception, but California is a soccer hotbed and they get most of their kids from local clubs. As the dad of a freshman "American" player on the BC varsity, I couldn't be prouder of him. There is a great chemistry on the team and everyday in training he's playing/against one of the top teams in the country. What an awesome opportunity! Congrats Pilots!!

Sounds epic! I'd love to have been there, perhaps I could've gotten under the skin of a few Cougars.......and then I would've yelled at the SAU players.
