IWU men's soccer and volleyball certainly in re-building mode for the first time in a long time. While both have played a very tough non-conference schedule, they have also dropped some games they never should have lost.
Congrats to all the teams on solid starts.

I won't put anything past IWU volleyball. I worked with coach Moats for a number of years and she'll have that team playing well by the time the year is over. Didn't she have a string of like seven consecutive years with a team in the MCC championship game between Grace and IWU?

I don't know the streak from Grace, but Moats and the Wildcats have won 7 straight MCC Tournament titles, winning last year's from the 3 seed I believe

No doubt the IWU volleyball team is very young and will most likely get better as the season goes ahead, but Coach Candace Moats has some work ahead of her based on the team's start to the season. I have confidence in her though as she is a fantastic teacher, motivator, and coach of the game.
The Wildcats have eight freshmen and sophomores with only three total juniors and seniors. They have talent, just need time I would imagine.

If memory serves me correctly, she made the MCC Tournament championship game in each of her final three years at Grace (didn't win it every year though) so that would mean her teams have been in the finals for 10 years in a row. That's an unbelievable streak.

From Grace Athletics site.
Andria Harshman, head coach of Grace College's women's volleyball team, finally earned her first conference victory at Grace with a 3-2 win over Indiana Wesleyan. The Lady Lancers had lost nine straight prior to Tuesday's win in Marion.
The win snaps a 13-match losing streak in MCC play for Grace's volleyball program -- a streak stretching back to a win over Goshen on Oct. 9, 2007.
Harshman's win over the Lady Wildcats (4-13; 1-2 MCC) was also her first over her former coach at Grace, Candace Moats. Harshman played at Grace from 1998-2001, where she helped lead the Lady Lancers to three MCC championships under Moats.
Game 1: IWU 25-18 Game 2: Grace 25-17 Game 3: IWU 25-18 Game 4: Grace 25-22 Game 5: Grace 15-12

That's a GREAT win for the Grace program. I think it's the first win over Coach Moats since she left Grace for IWU.
