EDIT: I don't mean to beat a deadhorse here, but it becomes more obvious the American public could careless about soccer. The 3 options on pictures of the night/week? were 2 GOLF pictures and 1 soccer picture on ESPN. Soccer was the last even though this was the biggest win/upset in my lifetime as US Soccer goes. Actually the picture was from the US-Egypt match not the US-Spain match. It was the best pictures from last week. I suspect the US-Spain match might win that contest this week.

Ugh......gutted.
It makes me pleased however, that our countries 4th string athletes are just as competitive as the rest of the worlds best athletes are on the field.

Confederations Cup Final today vs. Brazil
Well... it was a tale of two halves. The US looked phenomenal in the first getting early goals from Dempsey and Donnavan and taking a 2-0 lead to the half. Then the 2nd half was all Brazil. Their talented striker Fabiano put in his 4th and 5th goals of the tournament to tie it and then the captain Lucio ended it in the 84th minute with a header off a set piece. 3-2 Brazil. Too bad for the Americans, but they played really well in the Spain match and in the 1st half of this match which has me encouraged about their prospects next summer in the World Cup.

The addition of Jermaine Jones will do wonders for this team.
A great holding midfielder that has and is playing at the highest possible level will do wonders for an already talented group of midfielders. Sacha will not get a sniff of the World Cup next year because of the depth we have in midfield.
The US really missed Michael Bradley today, as somewhere in the world Lorrienda smiles knowing that his harsh red card at the end of the Spain game accomplished what it was set out to do....create a disadvantage for the Yanks.
