I noticed that most of these guys are playing in other countries. Maybe one day, if they keep working, they'll be good enough to play in the MLS! I kid. I kid.

Are you knocking the MLS and the obvious development it's given our National Team?
Of the above listed teams, here are the guys that got their break by developing in MLS:
Demarcus Beasley Freddy Adu Carlos Bocanegra Danny Califf Heath Pearce Jozy Altidore Clint Dempsey Tim Howard
Now, when you look at what will be the full strength squad in South Africa next year, you'll realize that 95% of them have MLS backgrounds. Until the MLS starts paying what European leagues do, you'll consider to see people jump ship.
I know you're married to a Romanian, and you automatically equate Romana Soccer > American Soccer because Romania is in Europe. Now, while there are some decent players from Romania (none of them play in Romania) most of those clubs would get whipped around by MLS teams.

It comes with marrying a European.
I salute your loyalty.

Remarkable change of events.
For once, I was glad to see the US with 11 men on the field for the entire game. I was having flashbacks of WC 2002 after the blatant handball the prevented a US Goal from the Egyptian.
Either way, to make up a 6 goal difference in one afternoon is a true blessing for this program. Almost a second chance....let's hope they take it.

USA 2 SPAIN 0!!!!!!!!HUGE win for the Americans over #1 in the world Spain! Jozy Altidore scored in the 27th minute after a phenomenal turn and then Clint Dempsey lucked into one that should have been cleared by a Spanish defender in the 74th minute to seal the victory! Great performance by keeper Tim Howard and all of the American defenders. They were peppered with shots all game long, but blocked them all en route to the biggest win for USA soccer in probably 11 years. The Americans will now take on either Brazil or home country South Africa in the championship match on Sunday. sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_ylt=AjyqburhEmR5ChLUQsba7gY5nYcB?slug=reu-confederationsspain_urgent_pix&prov=reuters&type=lgns

I must admit that I watched this game in full and really enjoyed it. Great upset win for the US, but can they muster up one more of those performances. Huge plays on defense and by keeper Howard.

I've loved the US national team since the 96 World Cup. I just don't enjoy soccer when it is between clubs. You give me two countries on the pitch, I will watch all day. I will say that today, well I guess yesterday now, was the first time I have watched a full 90 minutes of soccer since the last World Cup. I'm guessing my next 90 minutes will be a little bit sooner unless my wiffleball league runs over time!! EDIT: I don't mean to beat a deadhorse here, but it becomes more obvious the American public could careless about soccer. The 3 options on pictures of the night/week? were 2 GOLF pictures and 1 soccer picture on ESPN. Soccer was the last even though this was the biggest win/upset in my lifetime as US Soccer goes.

Meanwhile,
ESPN has snapped up rights to La Liga and the England Premier League this week, clearly showing that they have realized that amazing market for watching the game in this country.
ESPN replayed the game as an instant classic last night as well.........
